I had a very bad experience at this new Today Restaurant today. The staff hired at this new store are an absolute disgrace compared to the nice people over on Wilmslow road. I ordered 2 shawarma's in store today and noticed that there was old, clearly cold leftover shawarma in the pan. I asked the man if he could use fresh shawarma instead of the old one and he agreed.
When it came to his colleague actually preparing the shawarma, his colleague with a beard flat out refused to not use that shawarma and started raising his voice at me and asking me if he should throw away each bit of shawarma. I told him this is old shawarma its been lay out in a tray for a while, its cold and its unhygienic and he continued to raise his voice and refused to not serve it to me. He then served me this old shawarma straight up in my face and told me I have an attitude problem for such a simple request. The shawarma was absolutely delicious; cooked perfectly on a fluffy naan, accompanied by all manner of toppings and sauces. Probably the best shawarma I've had in a longggg time. The fatayar was a little uninspiring - it needs some green chillies or jalapenos or something to liven it up, and as a result it tasted just adequate. Nothing more.
Overall, this is a decent place, very cheap prices (£2.50 for the shawarma, £3 for the fatayar), and friendly staff. Parking is an issue as it's on a main road, but plenty available in the side streets. Recommend and...
