I recently had the pleasure of dining at 0161 Flamin Grill in Manchester, and I must say, it was an extraordinary culinary adventure. From the moment I stepped foot into the restaurant, I was greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance that set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience.

The menu at 0161 Flamin Grill boasts an impressive selection of dishes, particularly their grill specialties. As a meat lover, I was in absolute heaven! The variety of succulent steaks, juicy burgers, and perfectly seasoned chicken options made it difficult to choose. Thankfully, the knowledgeable and friendly staff were more than willing to offer suggestions and help tailor my meal to my preferences.

I decided to start my meal with the buffalo wings, and they were simply fantastic. The wings were tender, the sauce was perfectly balanced between spicy and tangy, and the portion size was generous. It was an excellent precursor to the main event.

For the main course, I opted for their signature Flamin Mixed Grill, a tantalizing combination of steak, lamb chops, chicken, and sausage. The meats were cooked to perfection, each with its own distinct flavour profile. The steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the lamb chops were beautifully seasoned, and the chicken was moist and flavourful. Was told by my brother that Manchester is the halal food capital of Britain. So thought I would fact check that when I attended a conference last week.

When I searched for best halal restaurants and food places in Manchester, I was overwhelmed with the number of places available in a small area.

So decided to use Google maps to find the nearest well-reviewed place to my hotel.

Up cropped 0161, which was just round the corner, and I was amazed to see that most reviews on any website gave it 5 out of 5. I had to check it now.

I must say I would have skipped straight past it not noticing it at all if I had just been window shopping...So imagine my surprise and genuine satisfaction when this small unassuming eatery fully lived up to its billing!

Firstly, may I just say that the gentleman and lady who serve here are just lovely and welcoming people.

On other reviewers' endorsement I went for the Nashville burger, which came with peri peri fries and a drink as a meal. I was warned that it is quite hot but was happy to try to handle it. It was the best chicken burger I have ever had - crunchy and spicy on the outside, fresh and deliciously cooked on the inside. Lovely bread and excellent fries, with 2 sauces thrown in for free.

Was so happy with my take-away that I closed the conference but eating in the following day - this time I went for half peri peri chicken and rice. As it was a Wednesday, they gave me a sample of their house biryani with raita side and that was excellent too. None of it was greasy and it all tasted fresh, like home cooking.

All I can say is what when I return for future conferences, 0161 will be guaranteed fixture on my itinerary! Next time it will be their smash burger, God-willling.

I don’t normally leave reviews online but I’ve been very disappointed about this situation. My sister worked here,I only let her because I’ve known the owner since a very long time and I trusted them with her. She was not paid the full amount she was owed, despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue. The management was unprofessional and dismissive, even after admitting that she was missing money. Instead of taking responsibility, they shifted the blame on the manger that stopped working there and refused to pay her what she had worked for. It’s shocking to see a business treat young workers like this, especially when they rely on them to keep things running.

To make matters worse, what made me upset was the way she spoke to me, how disrespectful she sounded. I’ve supported this restaurant in the past and spent money here so many times, came with my family and friends aswell they all know how much I love this place, so it was never about the money it was about MY SISTERS TIME and EFFORT but after seeing how they operate behind the scenes, I’ll never return. Not only that but her behavior with my sister at work was very disrespectful aswell, saying how she makes the men do all the work for her because she is a women, etc. Just overall very weird behavior which is not something I had expected, it was just extra stress for my sister and me since I had to deal with all this.
