I have sent the following email to the customer service team twice now, so have decided to post for other people to understand the trouble we had with our visit.
"I visited your Milton Keynes branch last night around 9.30pm (now 27th September 2019) and was seated immediately, although unfortunately I didn’t have a great experience at your venue.
As a vegetarian, I was hoping that your team would be able to tell me what options are available as the menu doesn’t seem to tell me what options contain gelatine, if any. No one in the MK team knew what was vegetarian. I asked if the hot drinks were vegetarian and they weren’t able to offer me a single vegetarian option.
I asked if the ice cream comes in in cartons, so we can look at the ingredients on the side to determine whether it had any beef/pork gelatine, and the staff were unable to tell me.
Eventually, one of the employees pulled out a peach smoothie package and asked us to read the ingredients to see if it was vegetarian. After a minute of trying to read the ingredients (the employee kept hold of it) we found a Vegan stamp on the other side of the carton. My partner asked what they would be able to make with it (aside from smoothie) and they would be able to blend it with ice and water.
I then asked about the Bubble Slushes, thinking they must be vegetarian and they were still unable to tell me.
Finally, I asked if they had any allergy menus, hoping you at least had vegan options to guarantee veggie food. After some time, the employee found a vegan menu and found that the bubble slushes are vegan. I asked which of the flavours was the best for the boba balls but the employee was unable to offer me a suggestion as he’d never had one before.
I am so disappointed that your employees would answer my questions with “I don’t know” or “I don’t think so...” instead of looking for an allergen menu or asking a manager in the first place. It didn’t give me much confidence for ordering for my partner, who has a nut allergy. We were able to get hold of the nut free menu, after the employee brought out the vegan option.
I think a lot more training needs to be put in place in the Milton Keynes branch. It was our first time visiting and sadly did not live up to expectations. Although I don’t expect every employee to know the ins and outs of the menu, I expect them to know where to look for the answers.
I still have walked away not knowing if your ice cream is vegetarian or not, which is really awful in 2019. Even if the answer was no, they’re not vegetarian, it would just be good to know.
I am eager to hear your thoughts regarding our visit, and whether this is the standard as to which you hold your employees. I’ve only heard good things about Kaspas, which is why we visited. I am curious to know what went wrong at this particular site?
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks,
Ashleigh"
Please keep in mind this was sent twice and the first time was on the 28th September 2019. I just wanted to put a warning out there in case any fellow vegetarians are visiting, and to ask maybe if anyone...
Read moreKaspas Milton Keynes Had a really bad experience here. I placed my order through their app for collection — 4 single scoops and 2 sundaes. When I got home and checked, one scoop was missing. It was very frustrating as they clearly hadn’t checked the order properly before handing it over.
When we called, they couldn’t even find the order number at first. And instead of apologising, the person on the phone was extremely rude. They questioned me like I was trying to get a free extra scoop — which was insulting. I even offered to send them a picture of the order I received, but their attitude was dismissive and unhelpful. When I asked if they could deliver the missing scoop (since it was their mistake), they outright refused and expected me to come back again. Why would I have to ride back a second time, wasting my petrol and my time, just to correct a mistake that they made? Honestly, I only went because one of my kids was left without ice cream at home — but the whole experience left me very annoyed.
There was no proper customer service, no accountability, and no courtesy. To make it worse, the app also advertised a free gelato scoop on first order, which I never received.
This wasn’t even the first time. On another occasion we ordered takeaway and they gave the wrong ice cream. Luckily, we tasted it on the spot and got it changed immediately. But that just shows the people working here are neither professional nor doing their job properly.
The ice creams themselves were just okish and not really up to the mark, but it’s mainly their poor service that makes me write this review. They spoiled our night yesterday with this bad experience. No apologies nothing even when I went back to collect the missing ice cream. Just handed like I'm taking it for free. Pathetic...
Read moreWent there with my autistic grandson for his birthday. They were nice enough, but half the ice cream was quite melted which he didn’t like they bought a candle out for him which was quite suede, but then when they brought other food out, his doughnut dropped on the floor so then he become reactive also because the ice cream was melted and then the cone broke that made it even worse. We had to then go and buy another cone after spending £41 on the other stuff and then the ice cream was dripping through the bottom of the cone. My daughter asked if they had another cone and they said they’re all the same would not go there again, would not recommend it The only nice bit of it was the fact they did bring a doughnut out with a little candle in for him, but because where they bought the food out, and these doughnut dropped on the floor. It made him so reactive. They didn’t replace the doughnut so then it ended up where we had to buy another doughnut and the ice cream, which, because it was dripping through the bottom of it, he wouldn’t eat wish we had not gone to kaspers tonight We had to leave quickly because my grandson becomes so reactive just couldn’t believe how the ice creams were so melted, and as I say, when we asked about the ice cream cone after his first one broke, they were not helpful then and then when we had to buy another one and it started dripping through the bottom which you don’t expect it where a cone is meant to keep the ice cream in there, so the ice cream must’ve been quite quite melted to start dripping so quickly So that then he wouldn’t eat, because it was too melted, what...
