My partner and I decided to have a meal at this restaurant The dining experience was pleasant, clean and with a punctual arrival of food. We had enjoyed our order of the 1/4 chicken and sunset burger with sides; the staff provided an initially friendly service until we left.
I am a transgender woman, and in many cases, i am aware of when people have noticed this fact. Unfortunately, the staff this day noticed. I became aware of this when several different members of the staff came by to our table to what could only be recognised as "having a look." On a day when it was very empty this pattern of behaviour was unusual.
When my partner and I were leaving a number of staff in the kitchen made a massive effort of mocking my voice by mimicking it as well as transphobic mutterings and unpleasant looks which made me feel very uncomfortable.
This behaviour was not only unacceptable but falls within the realms of the definition of a hate crime in the UK.
After having an enjoyable evening at the restaurant, it was quickly ruined by this horrible experience which has left me with a complete lack of desire to return and emotional distress. I have never come across this level of evident and bold transphobia from restaurant staff from any other business.

Read moreWe are a group of friends who meet every week. Been regular patrons of this outlet of Nandos for last the last 3 years on a weekly basis. Yesterday the customer experience we had was really shocking. The young gentleman taking the order was not willing to provide two plates of thigh meals. He was of the opinion that we could only have one plate of thigh and the other one would have to be breast. After a heated debate on this we ordered, paid and settled down to wait for the food. We got one dish and were kept waiting indefinitely for the remaining. While waiting the Staff would not assist in resolve a highly wobbly table as well., saying that we should do this ourself. After a substantial time waiting for the remaining dishes we decided to leave and request for a refund. Interesting that though the payment was made using a credit card the manager (Rebecca) refused to return the money to the card. Though we were offered cash instead. This unit had been good and the staff knew that we were regulars. In fact some of the staff yesterday did come across to apologies for the way we were being treated. It's going to be difficult to forget this episode and highly unlikely that we would visit this unit again. Read moreI was disappointed by the quality of food, waiting time and no one bothered to take our plates to the point that we have to use nearest table to put dirty plates. Ordered online, some dishes wasn’t available so we ordered replacements, turned out all food was available if ordered directly. Chicken and chips tasted more like ones you get from supermarket to be honest. Chicken wings tasted salty and a bit dry, some small bits were pink. Chips is not wat you get from proper Nando’s but more like from supermarket frozen chips. Olives comes without garlic and yet saw and bought exactly same from Aldi that is located opposite. I have been in different Nando’s and this one unfortunately not the one I will go to again. Staff seemed nice but didn’t make me feel welcome. We waited for our food 40 minutes, I was about to leave but then we got offered free dish to choose while we waited for the order. Nice gesture but I would not add any top marks for that because it was not as tasty as I expected it to be but something cheap from supermarket.
