Surabi restaurant is one and only best authentic Sri Lankan’s cousin in Milton Keynes. My favourite regular place to get food. Chef Jana is fascinated with authentic Sri Lankan food and he always delivers the best tasting food. My favorits are Kothu rotti, Lamprais and Appam Egg. Kothu Roti is a popular Sri Lankan Street food. The flaky roti is chopped finely, stir-fried with eggs and rich spices and finished with a light curry sauce The Lamprais recipe originates from the Dutch controlled colonial Ceylon of the 1600s. The authentic recipe was handed down from generation to generation. Appam Egg, wafer thin, bowl-shaped pancakes made from fermented batter of rice flour & coconut milk.

Nice little family run take away shop. Driving on a few dishes, they are able to ensure good quality. Authentic flavours and dishes make then stand out. The price is very reasonable . Getting homely food fresh and hot - that is an experience not to be easily found. The owners let me know that I could order ahead and they would ensure the food was ready for collection. There is enough parking outside. Place is easy to find too. I know I'm going to pop by the next time I'm paying through Milton Keynes.

I had been to the place before Covid and felt the food was alright. I then turned up last October on a Friday evening for Tea. And they randomly asked if I would like to buy the last Veg Thaali they had. Ever since I have been going all Fridays for the Veg Thaali. It comes with Rice and 6 sides of various veggies, all of them yummy. It’s more than worth the 8£. Have had Pittu, chicken and fish curry. All of them are tasty. Good for the spicy pallet. Also their rolls are tasty.

I tried Lamprais for the first time here which is one of the much sought after delicacies and is not served by many restaurants here. It was a scrumptious treat wrapped in banana leaves that came with a generous portion of chicken and a massive serving of rice. I would give four stars in terms of spice, flavour and authenticity. However, I was not impressed with the mutton rolls, they were mediocre. Although freshly made and crispy on the outside, there was no meat which defeats the purpose of the short eat! Nevertheless, I can't deny that there's a certain appeal to the Lamprais and for the price I paid it was definitely worth the money and something I’d...

Was searching for some good authentic South Indian food and a friend suggested this place. A very humble place run by a beautiful family who do everything in a homely manner! Their food is indeed authentic South Indian/SriLankan food and anyone looking for such food should visit this please!! Not much of a seating area and the family did mention that its much better to place an order and collect than dine ! But the effort to travel and collect the food is completely worth it! Really enjoyed it and at such affordable...
