I’ve been excited to visit this place and WOW - it did not disappoint! You can tell a lot about a restaurant by how the place has been fitted and the standard of the decor and from the moment you walk in, you can tell there’s no cut corners here. It is beautifully designed and decorated, including the gorgeous bathroom fittings 😮‍💨 But onto the main bit - the food and drinks! Ryan opted for Huli Huli chicken (Hawaiian pineapple chicken marinated overnight, glazed and finished over coals) which comes with a choice of 2 sides; Ryan went for potato sidewinders and corn luu (my first time trying this and I’m slightly obsessed! Next time I visit I’m definitely ordering this for myself!) If you like a mix of savoury and sweet - you will LOVE this dish! The sweet char on the chicken is something else! I also couldn’t help but had to steal (read ‘share’) a few Ryan’s sidewinders, they were also divine. I went for the Salmon poke bowl (salmon, edamame, pineapple salsa, guacamole, pickled carrot and red cabbage, radish, ginger, all served on a bed of divine sticky rice). I also chose 2 small pates which were garlic shrimp (UNREAL) and corn ribs (I could have 3 plates of those, the taste brought on by charring them was fantastic. My mouth is still watering now thinking about them!) Without exaggeration, this was the tastiest poke bowl I’ve ever had! The amount of perfectly prepared salmon so beautiful complemented by the choice of umami, salty, and sweet ingredients in a generous serving was STUNNING!!! For drinks we had: 🍸Blood orange mai tai 🍸Mango & chilli margarita 🍸Plantation daiquiri 🍸Oops I did it again (mocktail) All were a solid 10/10. It’s so hard to pick favourites because everything was pretty amazing; we just need to go back and try the rest of the menu🤭😆 And you can easily forget you are in the city centre and not in a beachside Hawaiian restaurant. A huge bonus is that they’re dog friendly! I always get asked about dog friendly city centre restaurants so will be recommending this place to all dog parents 😍 Absolutely fantastic! It’s absolutely a must-visit!

You should definitely join for a taste of aloha at this Hawaiian restaurant, where every bite is a tropical escape 🌴🍹🍍🏖️🏝️🍋‍🟩 @hulaconcl 90 side, Newcastle-upon-tyne, NE1 1PR We ordered Mocktails: Oops I did it again (5/5): this was our fav 🍹(must try) Needs a name (4.9/5): loved it’s lychee touch 🍹 Pineapple Crush (4.8/5): great but it’s lil citrus for me 🍍 Summer Fruits Nojito (4.9/5): tropical flavour is my fav 🍹 Since I am nonalcoholic, I tried their mocktails only and I feel that they are sufficient enough to invite you to the tropical world. 🏝️🐠🍋‍🟩🏖️ Next, we ordered food: Hawaiian fried chicken (5/5): the most juicy 🍗 (must try) Corn Luu (5/5): surprisingly my fav now 🌽 Corn ribs (4/5): lil blend for me (as I am Indian) Hawaiian Katsu Curry (5/5): one of the best I had so far 🍛 Sweet Potato & Katsu Curry (4.8/5): wow 🧡🧡 Potatoes Sidewinders (4.7/5): I dipped them in pineapple salsa (trick ✅) Overall, a very different but lovely taste, it’s a heaven for coconut and pineapple lovers 🥥🍍 Service: The staff was very friendly and made sure that I have my best experience. Special mention: The ambience is so great and we loved the cutlery. This is definitely worth of trying Hawaiian food.

We've been meaning to visit this place for a while now as it opened recently, and it looks amazing! It's certainly dog friendly, which we love to see! We went with a couple of friends and our dog on a weekday and it was not that busy. To our disappointment, two of the main ingredients were not in stock (salmon and steak) so we couldn't try many of the plates. From the ones we did try, the chicken tacos were the highlight for me. I also had the shrimps and the chicken tenders and they were alright. I think I'd like to have more herbs on the chicken as it wasn't that flavourful. As for the shrimps, I really liked the broth they were in and since there wasn't that much flavour again for the shrimp, perhaps making it a bit more like a sauce would suit them better. The venue is nicely decorated with hawaian vibes, which we all commented on and there are loads of cocktails which are ALWAYS 241! Overall lovely place.

An absolute gem in the heart of Newcastle!

Hula Co. is the kind of place you walk into once and instantly know you'll be coming back. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was electric—vibrant, laid-back, and full of good vibes. The decor is tropical-chic with a modern twist, and every detail feels intentional, from the lush greenery to the ambient lighting.

The staff? Incredible. Andy was genuinely friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. He made us feel welcome without being overbearing, and every recommendation was spot-on.

The drinks were next-level—imaginative, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Each cocktail felt like a mini-vacation, and the menu had that perfect mix of classics and bold new flavours. Food-wise, it’s just as impressive: I absolutely love the Hawaiian theme!

Whether you're looking for a relaxed hangout spot, a fun night out with friends, or just a seriously good drink, Hula Co. nails it. Can’t recommend it enough—Newcastle needed a...
