I went here for the first time and honestly, I was really disappointed. I grew up listening to country music, so I had high hopes, but this just wasn’t it. I expected real country vibes, especially based on how it's presented on social media. Instead, it was a guy singing country songs, indie-style. The singing style is what makes country music country and this wasn't grasped at all.
What makes country music special is that it’s got grit, soul, and a rhythm that makes you want to dance. But here there was no country energy. Just sounded like other acoustic sets you hear in any other bar in Newcastle. I wasn’t the only one who thought so, others around me were saying how underwhelming it was too.
