Myself and my wife went here for a quiet meal out ,we like to go out at tea time as we don't care for being rushed , We arrived for our booking and we were met by the waiter ,very happy and cheerful and he showed us to our table ,a beautiful window table at the front of the restaurant, The table was immaculate ,proper cloth napkins and immaculately clean cutlery, We ordered our drinks and starters from the vast amount on the menu , A wide selection of hot and cold starters , Our food and drinks arrived in good time from ordering, The food looked great ,well presented on the plates and a cheeky order of Turkish bread on the side ,nice touch . My wife and I both tucked into our starters ,both absolutely beautiful, On finishing the waiter gave us plenty of time before he came to clear our table , He returned about 5mins later with our main courses ,the smell was amazing coming from my wife's dish ,again both dishes were presented so well ,they looked amazing, The food was delicious, and so well cooked ,I just kept telling my wife this is delicious, The waiter came over and asked if everything was fine ,our reply was of course it is delicious, He left with a big smile upon his face heading towards the kitchen no doubt to pass on the comments to the kitchen staff , We were left alone to finish our meals with no more Interruptions, We both did our best to clear our plates but the portion size just beat me ,and I love my food , Our waiter noticed we had finished asked again if everything was fine and took another drinks order , He let us rest for a good ten minutes before asking if we would like the sweet menu , Of course for me but my wife was beaten by the main , The dessert arrived ,again it looked and tasted amazing but my eyes were bigger than my tummy and unfortunately I was beat , So all in all ,the restaurant was immaculately clean ,the staff were amazingly friendly, the food was fantastic,so a review out of five stars would be 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟plus all-round Would me and the wife return, yes of course we will, Would we recommend this restaurant to friends and family, most definitely, Just one last thing ,keep up the amazing work ,both front of house and kitchen team ,yous are all amazing, thankyou for a wonderful experience, cheers to you...
Read moreMy partner took myself and our 2 children for an after school treat. Saray came highly recommended by a friend and I can tell you he was absolutely correct. When we arrived at around 4:30 it was relatively quiet which allowed us to get a table for four close to the window. The building which Saray occupies has undergone a complete renovation and you can see that they have aimed for quality arabesque wall decorations, solid wood tables tops, comfy chairs and some lovely tiles in the exposed fire places. To the background of Turkish pop music we chose our starters humus & bread, Kalamar, Muska Boregi, and Yaprak Sarma. These starters set the tone for the rest of our experience. The starters arrived quickly and we were soon finished. Plates were whisked away drinks refilled and within a short amount of time our mains were delivered. We took the Kaburga, Saray Kofte, and the Adana. My Kaburga which is barbecued lamb spare ribs was perfectly cooked super juicy with BBQ grilled flavour. Out 2 boys loved their Kofte and my partner said her Adana was delicious however she regretted indulging on the starters.
After a rest and a chat we had a look at the desert menu which has a great selection of indulgent treats being a Turkish restaurant we thought to give the Baklava a try as well as the cheese cake, rice pudding and a Turkish Coffee. The Baklava was perfect the layers of filo pastry light and crispy the nuts with just the right amount of syrup that wasn’t too sweet. Giving our compliments to the manager he proudly informed us that the Baklava is made by their Turkish chef my compliments to him. In all Saray was highly recommended and did not disappoint their waiters organised by an extremely polite and helpful manager and evidently skilled chefs have made us eager to return. Our last little surprise was saved until last 4 starters 4 mains 4 desserts plus a coffee came to £100 an absolute bargain for the quality of food, portions sizes and...
Read moreCame here for the first time. Pros - The restaurant decor is lovely, classy and modern. Also on a street with lots of decent pubs. Menu is typical Turkish grill food cooked well. Food came out piping hot and very delicious. Good size potions too. Bit of a delay on the drinks though. The food is a little pricey as are the drinks but if you want a spicy treat, give it a try. Cons - was not so impressed with the 10% service charge, ours was £30 so didn’t leave an extra tip. There is no parking. It’s a residential area with permit parking only. However this not so on Sunday evenings so maybe a good time to visit. My one main criticism were the ladies toilets were not clean and smelled disgusting like rotten eggs. There are only two loos in there and the left hand loo had dried sick on the wall tiles. Didn’t look like they had been given a good clean in...
