Brack Burger Jesmond — Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

Popped in for food today after work as it’s a Sunday, food shops are closed and didn’t have any food in the house. Heard really good things about the food at Brack Burger and I was really excited to try it. I went with my housemate, the table we had was reserved for 18:45 and we arrived and ordered at 17:45 and my food order was accepted at 17:56. My food arrived at around 18:25, and I can’t fault the food it was lovely. But my housemates food did not arrive. I polished off my burger, fries and side and hers still hadn’t arrived. She went to the counter and waited 5-10 mins where she was not addressed by staff that weren’t busy. A woman with short hair was openly swearing in the workplace and had a very poor attitude; this was also noticed by other customers in the queue. Eventually, she spoke to my housemate at the counter and said “there’s a 45 minute wait on food.” My housemate then came back to the table where the server explained that the tables had been moved around by bar staff which is why my housemate hadn’t received her food. She offered 2 20% off vouchers as a way of apology and understood why we were annoyed. My housemate nicely explained that she would not be returning and asked if there was anything else she could do as a way of apology. She offered a refund, and after it was processed she aggressively slammed the receipt on the table and stormed off. This made us feel rather uncomfortable. Her food still did not arrive and we were told to leave because the table was reserved at 6:45. My housemate left still hungry and very annoyed about the situation. Lovely food, awful service. I work in customer service, and if I behaved the same way as the lady did who dealt with the situation, I’d have received a disciplinary...

Top burgers in the Toon

You won't find better quality smash burgers in the northeast. The 'BBQ Boss' was delightful. Beautiful crisp but juicy smash patties with great flavours from the sauce and caramelised onions as well as nice crunch from the crispy onions. I do think charging a £1 for pickles is a bit off, especially for 3 slices! They're a must have for me, so I treated myself...

I also had 'Tokyo' chicken tenders which were actually great value for the huge portion. They were also delicious. A really generous portion of sweet potato fries too and they also went down a treat. Shout out to the staff. Really polite and efficient.

Brack will definitely be my go-to for burgers in Newcastle.

Previous visit: Worth the hype!

Brack really does do some of the best smash burgers you'll find. I had the 'Ronald Rancour' and enjoyed every single morsel! The patties were delicious and cooked perfectly with a nice crispy char around the edges. The 'Tokyo' chicken tenders were also superb. Beautifully crisp coating and a tasty teriyaki sauce lathered on them. I had the sweet potato fries too and the portion was huge! Everything came piping hot and cooked well. Definitely won't be my last...

Travelled 20 miles today to see what all the fuss was about We'd seen all the videos of fantastic food so we wanted to try it for ourselves

To our dismay the food wasn't being served today as I think only 1 lady was there

& Outside was grubby with tab butt's everywhere Not a nice look or feel to the place 🤷 But maybe cleaning staff & chefs were all planned a day off today 🤷🤷

Now bringing mind we don't know the area We asked the 1 lady that was there "where else around here is there somewhere open to eat @"

We were actually told there's knowhere You'd have to go to the "quayside"

Defo NOT a helping soul was she !!!

When next door as we found out was "Rio Steakhouse"

Which was a total contrast to Brack Burger !!!

So "Happy. Friendly. Open. Clean. Great Decor."

On this 1st visit to both premises there's only 1 we will return too though
