It used to be very good but over time I've seen it decline.
I've been ignored for long time as a Customer who wanted to order for takeaway when entering the parlour (while in-parlour customers were quickly tended to with their orders). Not allowed to sit down anywhere during my first few experiences in such a scenario either
The Servers seem to have listening/reading problems (repeatedly giving me the normal menu/avoiding giving me the vegan menu even after I've stated I'm vegan -many times eventually). They've also not been able to comprehend many times that my accompaniments weren't Vegan so they could both have the normal menu to the point my friends just accepted the Vegan menu for themselves for the sake of not causing drama/being able to order in good-enough time).
I've also had Servers not acknowledge me when I've raised my hand to order, looked at them sweetly and eventually started to talk to them about ordering as they were passing me so they knew I was wanting their attention... At one point in 1 meetup I wanted to tell my friend that it'd be better if we walked out. I work in Hospitality and if Upper Management ever caught us Servers ignore the customer outright (even one time not acknowledging them wanting us) we'd be in the Manager's Office for such neglectful ,unprofessional behavior; at least say "I'll be with you soon!" if you can't tend to a Customer straight away Heavenly Desserts!
They've taken off the Vegan section off their online delivery platforms (JustEat/UberEats and with Deliveroo it takes longer to order vegan items by having to individually select items and checking for any vegan options available).
Just yesterday I was the only customer in the dessert parlour, I had to tell the (sole) staff member I was vegan and wanted the vegan version of "The Vegetarian Breakfast" many times (he didn't look like he was listening well and was unable to fathom I'd already looked at the menu displayed outside so was ready to order instantly) and he still thought I wanted the vegetarian breakfast that included a poached egg and insisted there was no vegan option available after he served me the breakfast with the poached egg on the plate (I showed him the menu once again and it took him multiple attempts to read that Heavenly desserts did a Vegan option; insufficient reading ability too).
He eventually apologized and offered to remove the egg (I told him a pure Vegan/religious person could ask for the dish to be remade since the egg was touching vegan items on the menu but considering I'm in a rush to be elsewhere for an appointment, hungry and don't want to cause drama I'll take the same dish without the egg but to-go ).There was never any croffle with my breakfast but I was so intent to get back home for my online lecture and tired from already pointing out flaws in my experience (repeatedly so I could eventually be heard by the staff member) I decided to let it go.
Disappointingly incompetent staff time and time again...On some weird/subconscious level the staff are averse to catering to groups who don't all have the same diet and to those who want Heavenly Desserts' Vegan options (that are still available ; RIP to the many vegan desserts that are no longer available). I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who wants Vegan options nor to groups of people where at least 1 person has a special dietary...
Read moreHad been a customer for years both in store and via delivery. Will never return again.
Over the years the portion size has massively decreased and the cost has gone up. Went here last nice, the tiramisu was tasteless and should not be advertised as this when you cannot taste the flavours. The cookie dough size is atleast half of what it used to be and again, extortionate for what you pay.
Got parts of my order wrong but waited an hour before chasing up my order as several groups had come in after us and all were served there food. We were told our order wasn’t put through and kept being told to wait. Again waiting longer, I had to chase this up again, by this point I wasn’t even hungry anymore! Having been an ongoing customer previously I’ve never had to wait this long. After waiting so long and this experience I complained and was told I would get 30% off the bill. Went downstairs to pay and the “manager” didn’t look happy, despite it was us who had, had the bad experience, no apology, and said you can have 25% discount off, we was not bothered as we will not return again but when questioned as conflicted as with what I was said by the waitress about the 30% off he then said “I’m the manager, I’ll decide what discount you get”. I’ve worked in hospitality before for years in a restaurant. The previous owners were a lot more customer oriented. It appears they cannot put things right for where they went wrong and are unwilling to accept liability for their faults. It seems this is a occurring issue if you read the other 1 star reviews! Some desserts are nice but it’s definitely not “heavenly”. Appalled by the manager and the fact that nobody even came to check why we had been sat without our order for over an hour and I had to chase it up.
Also, as we was waiting to pay, I was observing the fruit, to make it worse the raspberries were mouldy and we’re in plain sight to see. It was good whilst it lasted when it first opened however it’s evident a lot has gone wrong ever since.
The only good thing was the classes the coffee came in. Otherwise it’s gone really down hill since the new management has came in. Overpriced and poor customer service. Would have been much more satisfied getting a McFlurry a few doors down. 2...
Read moreWas excited to try this place as there are some very slim pickings for dessert lovers in Nottingham.
First impressions was that it was trying to give a 'Dubai' vibe in the parlour: super shiny, well lit, appearance of luxury and perhaps a little airport-like. When you look a little closer you can see that it is not very well maintained with large gaps in the tiles and wear and tear. This is most obvious in the bathroom where I feel they tried to continue their interior motif half-heartedly. There is also some extreme and disturbing plumbing sounds - as if there is active construction happening.
Onto the food: there is a lot of options and variety here which is fine if that's what you want but was a bit of a red flag for me as it is a general rule that the more choice, the poorer the quality. I went with two friends and we decided to split three dishes and try them all. They were the tiramisu croffle, the rose and raspberry cheesecake and the kunafeh. All of the dishes were too sweet in my opinion and I would say I have a rather big sweet tooth. The flavours are just unbalanced overall.
The croffle is a great idea in theory but what I received needed more time to crisp up and cook through properly in the middle so they were a little raw. The ice cream made a nice addition and was needed to counteract the richness and sweetness of the plate. I've had an authentic kunafeh before in the middle east and this one was a little too sweet for me. The cheesecake was probably the closest to being the level of sweetness I prefer but I wasn't sure about the flavour of the sorbet with everything else.
It's a bit of a strange place but it has a certain novelty factor about it and I guess there is a clientele. People who are happy to pay for tap water it seems(!) I might go back just for ice cream which wasn't bad (especially considering there isn't much alternative) but not for a...
