Having visited Nottingham for the first time we did not know where to eat. After finding some lovely cocktail bar we found a Chinese on line near where we were drinking. We called ahead to see if we could reserve a table to which they said yes so we went. We arrived and shown to a table in the pathway of the door opening, which every time opened there was a constant draught. The lady who served us was not very friendly and was very rushed. Even to the point that when a member of our group went to the toilet as soon as he came down and sat to table she asked his order (he Had not looked at menu!!) We ordered food although at this stage was not actually happy with service. Whilst waiting they started vacuuming around the restaurant- ive never eaten in a restaurant where they start doing that, also the smell coming out of it was awful. I asked the lady whom was our surver if they could turn it off to which she replied she did not understand what I was saying??? She was okay before this. I asked the manager and eventually it was turned off and our food was being served. The managers attitude was appalling and as food was now on table we ate. I will be honest that the food was nice however it was spoilt by the attitude of staff. After complaining and absolute no care from the manager there was not offer of anything to compensate our disappointment . So i did not leave a tip and i did explain to the manager my reason why but he did not care. We've eaten in some of the best resaurants in the world and had some good and bad experiences however the way management handle these situations can be a testament to their restaurant and regardless of how good their food is you pay for the whole experience of eating out and with the attitude they displayed tonight i would like warn people that yes the food is nice but if you like a cold restaurant with a rude waitress and rude management who does not care if you are enjoying your evening and if you go out to listen to the vacumm and smell of a vacuum bag then this place is for you, if you want warmth kind service and care about your evening without chores going on around you then go elsewhere. This is a...
Read moreThis was my third visit to Man's Restaurant.
The first time, about three years ago, was disappointing—the food was cold, and the experience left much to be desired, so I avoided returning for a while.
My second visit, roughly a year and a half ago, came after a friend mentioned having a good experience there. The food quality had improved—not exceptional but decent enough to reconsider the restaurant.
This time, however, the flavours were significantly better. We ordered several dishes, all served hot (a crucial factor, especially for dim sum!), and genuinely delicious. I hope this improvement reflects consistent progress rather than luck, as it would be reassuring not to gamble on food quality.
Overall, the experience was positive—the environment was comfortable, the service satisfactory, and the recent quality promising. I hope they maintain this standard...
Read moreTaste of food isn’t the problem but the problem is the service mind. We have every right to pack a food what ever we want because we paid for it, but the waitress make us feel like we are begging for food, it’s true that we’re not speaking your languages, but we can understand from depression from the waitress face that look down upon us, racist. Is this the restaurant that people recommend? Not professional at all. Also the manager we told you about the situation but we didn’t see any action from you, how could you let this situation go. I’m not recommend this place at all, their is plenty of good chinese restaurants that will give us more than just a food, give us some good service, give us some respect, but definitely...
