Mayfair — Restaurant in Nottingham

Has no menu online. Called the restaurant to order for 20 people, and got told that we have to make a Facebook account to view the menu! 2024!!!!! How do they not know that most people do not use Facebook. It is for the older generation! The man said he could not help us! What shop does not have a website and online menu accessible to customers. We Shanghai Shanghai, who were more than happy to take our £450! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! There are much better places in Nottingham. Also, their shop looks filthy and the man was extremely rude! Too many good Chinese restaurants, unfortunately Mayfair is not one of them, lol! Imagine losing 20-25 individual customers in one go! We will be sure to spread the word on all of our social media platforms and across both unis. So glad that we did not spend our money...

We have been to the restaurant a few times now with friends from work and without a doubt its my favourite Chinese restaurant ever. My friend Christina introduced us to the Mayfair last year after years of visiting regularly and telling us how great it was. The owner is personally responsible for front of house and has a team in the kitchen keeping food flowing even on the busiest of evenings. As im a vegetarian I go for the veggie options but at out last visit on 10th April there were ten of us and so we ordered a large number or dishes and they were all wonderful. The place is authentic and comfortable. Its not posh not modern but if you want a lovely evening with fantastic food at great prices hosted by long term owner you'll love this place. Me and 4 of my friends went to May fair on 2nd August 2024 for dinner and it was a very good experience. As they dnt serve drinks, we were asked to get our own drinks from outside. The food were served within 5 minutes after ordering it. We ate Chicken fried rice. 8/10 Schezwan chicken 8/10 King prawn with veggies 10/10 Singapore chicken noodle 8/10. Chicken cashew nut 3/10 ( lacked the zing and flavors) Chicken chowmein 8/10 Mushroom rice 8/10 Banana fritters 7/10 ( the bananas were too riped) I'll recommend to have then in ball shape rather than a long string, cause then the banana separates from the batter.
