I have never been more disappointed by a restaurant ever. I’m in Nottingham for global summer school at NTU and I’m from Toronto, Canada and was excited to try this restaurant but the customer service was extremely rude and such a let down.
As from Canada, we were inquiring about different food items we wanted to order which they told us they didn’t have, this was at 6pm mind you and almost everything we wanted to order on the menu was not available and one point we were told there’s no chicken items. The bartender and the hostess/server kept giving us funny looks and were not being polite at all.
As we had to get up and order at the bar, we sat down and I noticed that there was QR code on the table and we could have it ordered to our table. As I didn’t want to get up again to order drinks at the bar, I ordered through their app as their QR code advertised. As I am from Canada, I had to verify the transaction with my bank app and it went through and my bank sent me a receipt on my email to verify the foreign transaction. However on the app, the payment said unsuccessful.
Once we received our drinks and food, we let the blonde hostess know about the app situation and also how we ordered a “bacon burger” but only received one slice of bacon. She was very dismissive and told us there was nothing she could do but bring a manager. Even for the bacon burger. I kept showing her the proof and she kept telling me to go to the app which I told her the payment was unsuccessful.
After waiting for the manager, the lightskin guy who served us at the bar and seemed like was the bartender came to our table and asked again to verify the proof I had and said “as long I see proof, I’ll be able to make it for you.” Which I showed and he said he’ll make it for me.
After waiting again, a dark haired woman who came and claimed who was the manager said that they don’t see my QR order on their side and won’t be able to make it unless they verify through the app or show them an email receipt from them. I explained myself and showed her the proof from my bank and the emailed receipt from bank verifying the foreign transaction and how it went through. I had to literally confirm the transaction with my bank to approve it. I told her this and she proceeded to say “how they’ve lost money and they won’t be able to do it without proper proof” and how “our app does that and how that’s happened to multiple customers and the bank will reverse in 2-4 days” if this has happened before shouldn’t you warn your customers to not use the app? If I’m showing you proof of the transaction which I confirmed but choose to ignore it because “you’ve lost money.” Have I not lost money? I asked what if it does not come back and she told me to email the restaurant after 4 days and follow up with them over email as they won’t be able to do anything here. Terrible customer service.
She ignored our inquiries about the bacon burger having one slice of bacon and look undercooked.
So I paid for drinks that I did not receive, terrible customer service all around and terrible food. This was a disappointment experience overall and I won’t be back here again. I would advise everyone to save their money and go to a restaurant with actual decent customer service and friendly employees because you’re definitely not...
Read moreParty of 4 - pre show dinner .whilst we loved the new layout and decor after the refurb we were let down when it came to customer service - and this was by the “manager” on shift not the lovely waitresses who were working their socks off . 4 meals ordered at bar , one came out that was not ordered , had ordered chilli and they bought out a curry dish ,was told we must of ordered it! Asked again for the chilli to then be told it was not avail. So selected salmon and salad after another wait (my 3 friends had almost finished their meals by this point) was then told salmon no longer available either. I asked what was available and girl suggested steak and salad so I accepted as we were limited for time and others had already finished. The salad and steak came and was told that there was an additional charge of £3 for the meal as it was dearer than the original meal paid for . At this point a asked if that would not be wavered for the inconvenience and was told she would have to speak to the manager , so I asked if he/she was available.I left the meal waiting for them to come to discuss the matter , but the waitress returned saying I had to either pay the £3 or they would take the meal back .I don’t think I was being unreasonable expecting them to waiver the price difference in this situation so asked her to ask the manager if the £3 was more important then wasting the meal and customer satisfaction and the fact that the whole party would support my opinion and give negative reviews . She then returned and said ok they would waiver the £3 and offered us a bottle of Prosecco. I don’t feel this outcome was good Customer service . The waitress was not to blame in this case and was polite at all times - she was only the messenger for the person in charge who told her what to tell us . It would be useful for your kitchen to liaise with bar staff regarding what is and isn’t available when taking food orders ,to avoid this situation and surely a manager should be prepared to speak to customers as issues arise instead of just sending messages via the serving staff. Read moreWe paid for a package deal as a hen party for dinner and drinks when we arrived the place was so unbelievably busy, we were seated at a table and told someone would be with us shortly...after 20 minutes noone came so one of the girls from our group went to find out what was going on, it turned out we'd been taken to the wrong table and forgotten about, we were then taken to the correct table and told our drinks package included a spirit and a mixer or a beer or wine so we made our choices and quite a while after the waitress came back to tell us we weren't actually entitled to a spirit it was actually one of their flavour shots and a mixer. Eventually the drinks came over after a really long wait and then our food that we'd pre ordered came out however one of the orders was wrong so they went back to change it, but everyone else had pretty much eaten before we had to ask where the missing dinner was...the waitress just said she didn't know because she wasn't the chef! Obviously we were not impressed with the attitude or the terrible service and organisation. This occasion seemed like a case of overbooking and not being able to handle the sheer amount of customers which obviously lowered the experience for all of us and I'm sure other people as well. There was no apology and for the amount we had to pay I would absolutely NOT recommend this place for group bookings regardless of the occasion, overall really disappointed and I personally will not...
