They have all day brunch and no booking required (walk ins) which is the great part. The menu is varied and a lot to choose from. The coffee is really strong and a good size. The atmosphere is nice. Very communal dining feel. My few niggles would be that: 1) the food arrived slightly lukewarm. I expect a hot dish to be hot 2) I actually had stomach upset the day after 3) the eggs were really very sunny side up to the border of being undercooked (the whites were still slightly runny) - so perhaps point 2 is related to this 4) no free flow sauce on the tables - my fiance had to keep asking for tiny sachets of ketchup I've been here once before maybe a year ago and the full English was fine. Maybe this particular dish isn't it. In my honest opinion there are other places in Oxford who do brunch better (Alchemist in Westgate, George Street Social). And the hot food is always hot there. Unfortunately this day we went we didn't book anywhere and brunch had closed by 11am at most places as it wasn't a weekend so we had to choose here. I'd probably avoid it in the future to be honest.

I visited Oxford Brunch Bar early in August, between 7:30 and 9:30 AM, and found it quiet, perfect for easing into the day. The atmosphere is charming and cozy, with wooden accents and floral touches that make the space feel like a little urban garden. I ordered the Green Garden Breakfast, and wow what a feast! For £12.40, the portion was impressively generous, especially for a breakfast. It felt like a great value for both the quality and quantity. The music added a nice vibe, though sitting right next to the speaker made it a bit tricky to fully relax. Still, it was quiet enough to enjoy a conversation without shouting over the tunes. What really made the experience shine was the service. The staff were genuinely attentive, checking in on us multiple times and even remembering who ordered what when it came time to pay. That kind of thoughtful detail makes a big difference. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. If you're looking for a peaceful brunch spot with hearty food and standout service, Oxford Brunch Bar is worth a visit.

Really poor experience, toilets out of order, when we asked manager our alternative he responded ‘I don’t know’. We were repeatedly asked to move table. After 1 hour we were given the bill and asked to leave so another table of 4 could be seated. We still had food on our plate. Waiting staff poor, didnt give food to the person directly but instead left it on the edge of the table closest to them. Overall really unpleasant experience , would not recommend

Following this review we received the response from the OBB where they have made up a scenario and response- I have commented below the correct response to this review as the response from them is a lie as clearly seen in multiple other bad reviews where they are trying to cover the poor service and experience:

OBB said we stayed longer than 1.5 hours - we did not. We were told to leave at 1hour when we had just finished our food. When we were sat at our table we were presented the bill without asking and our waiter told people outside 2 mins while serving us the bill we had not asked for. There is clear miscommunication on your side between your staff as we were ushered out very quickly.

OBB said we were asked to move for our laptops as we seemed to be in a meeting…. I don’t see how this was the case and another lie- it was a Sunday morning with casual leggings and jumpers on with multiple celebrations for birthdays and weddings with presents flowers and cards. No laptops were ever brought out by us or anyone in that restaurant

OBB responded with they had called a contractor out for the toilet - this should have been communicated to guests and a back up provided - instead we received the response of “I don’t know” when asked about the toilet and where we could go.

Really poor response from OBB with lies on their side. Do...

Thank you for your reply. We would like to take this opportunity to clarify our position and explain the situation that occurred.

Your restaurant is a popular spot online, and it was a weekend when we visited, so we were mentally prepared and willing to wait. After all, waiting is sometimes part of traveling.

The situation was that your staff member gave us a quick nod to acknowledge us, then left us outside to wait. We understood and were willing to do so.

We came to your restaurant full of anticipation. As tourists, we had no reason or intention to wrongfully accuse a service staff member who was there to host us.

That day, we were waiting outside along with another group of foreign visitors. After 45 minutes, this staff member reappeared, skipped over us without even a glance. We were complete strangers to her, and we were also aware that the restaurant was busy. We never meant to disrespect the staff in any way. If we had, we wouldn’t have obediently stood in the cold wind for 45 minutes under her instruction.

To be honest, we were a bit disappointed by your reply.

In any case, it’s already in the past. We’ve returned to our country and probably won’t be coming back to that place again. There’s really no need for me to spend my time writing this letter.

Our intention is simply to let you know that since your restaurant has already built such a strong reputation, we hope small personal emotional outbursts from a single staff member won’t tarnish your brand.

If you insist on your position, then we have nothing more to say. We wish you continued success in...

Its main selling point is brunch, however it was open for tapas in the evening for dinner. Our first warning should have been how empty it was.

  1. the music was BAD, no word of a lie, they played Despacito, Justin Bieber's Baby, then the English version of Despacito IN THAT ORDER?!?! I wish I was joking.
  2. the food was abysmal, with a premium price point. For £7.50 you can get 6 boiled tender stem broccoli pieces in "house sauce" (Lidl sweet chili sauce), everything was overpriced for food you'd expect in a uni dorm or a hospital.
  3. the server randomly had his little finger nail like 2 inches long and curved
  4. the server was just bad.
  5. yeah tapas is supposed to come out as it's ready but the restaurant was empty and there was a 30 minute gap between our first and last dish (we ordered 4 total)
  6. we asked for tap water and it never came
  7. the prawns were suspended in water, completely soft, tasteless and with airplane bread

I don't know if this place has had a change of ownership or they do not give any attention to the evening time, only brunch, because it was not what the other reviews make it out to be. Even if you were getting brunch I would avoid as the management clearly...
