Berties Ice Cream and Homemade Desserts — Restaurant in Plymouth

Went and had cheesy chips and some desserts with my son. The food was nice, although took a while to come out but it was worth the wait. The lady who was serving was polite. The desserts were nice too. She was very kind to my son who is very fussy. The only thing I would comment is that the gentleman who was running it, not sure if it was the owner or not, was very rude to another lady who was taking order and serving. He was very rude to her and talked down. He was also swearing in the kitchen. I understand they were short staffed on one of the hottest days but to treat staff like that is disgusting. So that's why it's a two star because of the way the staff were treated not because of the food. This was at the end of July...

I ordered two coffees and one scoop of ice cream and it took them 20 minutes and we were the only customers, the young boy and man just chatted as they we doing everything and the man was prepping a tray for a dessert they do and wasn’t washing his hands or wearing a hair net. I am making the hair net clear because in my Ice cream when I got it there it had one of his hairs in it, by the time we got the coffee we were in a rush unlike originally so we asked to get them to be in ‘to go’ cups and they handed me two cups and asked me to put them in the cups. Ice cream nice, service not so great, lovely young lady who served us who was quite clearly new however her boss seemed very arrogant and rude and very unhelpful, making it very clear infront of the huge queue of about 30 people that she was new and that his staff hadn’t turned up today and basically humiliated the poor girl making it very clear that the queue was caused by her being a “trainee” well maybe you should help the poor girl instead of stood telling everyone in the queue that...
