B-Bar — Restaurant in Plymouth

I am a devotee, or was, of this restaurant.

They opened an outpost towards where I live, and up until recently the food has been fine.

Not the last two times. My loyalty prevented me from writing this review until the latest delivery.

Wow. Green curry that is all coconut milk, so much that there is no curry flavour and the coconut milk IS the sauce, a thick paste of ... coconut.

They screwed up the order.

The rest of the food is awful as well. Too bad, and too bad I cannot review the different locations separately as I have no idea what the original BBar is like as i have not been into Plymouth recently. But during Covid, heads up BBar owners, delivery and takeout maybe deserve more attention than they are getting.

Food now sucks, awful, terrible, avoid getting it delivered from the Queen's Arms in Tamerton...

Cocktails and delicious Thai food in the historic Barbican area of Plymouth. The menu has vegetarian and vegan options. A great place to start and end your night, particularly if you are going to the Barbican Theatre (which is upstairs from the bar)! The Bbar often has music and regular cuban/salsa nights. Often gets very busy, so best to book a table if you are eating. There are two ways to access it from the street, one is a sloping side street and the other is up a flight of stairs. First time here with my partner, daughter and her other half. They had a jazz/blues band on and it was a great night! Food was delicious and the cocktails were very nice. (At £9 each, we spent more on them than food) easily done! We had a mix of starters and then noodles. All served in Chinese take out boxes. Reasonable prices and a good mix of dishes in small or big size. The young blonde lady that served us (sorry we didn't catch her name) was lovely. Very friendly and fun. She really did help to make our night. Will definitely come again. Still buzzing about it several...
