Mr Kane!Mr Kane!
Came here on a very bleak day outside for the "titanic" breakfast I'd heard from the family and locals! £10.95 and a choice of drink........... I couldn't have been any happier! I'm a really big fan of a fry up........ And this was near perfect!! No grease...... Perfectly cooked....... Coffee was nice and after 20 minutes of solid eating........ I was happily victorious!! Here on the 11th December for a roast dinner with all the mates available! Steaming hot and very tasty food as always! Staff too were a good laugh and felt really well looked after! Tonia the manager was really lovely too!

Edit: manager contacted me and swiftly offered a refund and a sincere apology. The blandest lasagna I’ve ever tasted. Weirdest, puffy cheese at the top that takes up half the dish. 1 bite and I put it down, my Italian toddler who loves anything pasta related barely touched it. It tasted like it was left in the rain, brought back in to be reheated then served. Staff didn’t even bother to ask how it was. 0/10 don’t waste your money!

My favourite place for Sunday roast in the heart of the Barbican. Quality food for a very reasonable cost. No aunt Bessies here, proper home made Yorkshire puddings are incredible. Salcombe real ales on tap and decent affordable wine. Extremely friendly staff all set in a pleasantly modern nautical setting. Right on the Barbican waterfront. They even show live premiership football. What’s not to like.

Sunday Lunch. Party of 6. Soup starter x 2 Mushroom and Coriander tasty enough, wasn't hot enough for my husband but mine was fine, the bread served with it was a bit hard (but ok once dunked in the soup!) Duck Spring Rolls x 1 - no complaints from the recipients 👍 Roasts 1 x Chicken, 1 x Pork, 1 x Nut Roast - all absolutely delicious 😋 generous portions of veg and gravy, the mashed swede and cauliflower cheese was a nice addition, absolutely no complaints there! 2 x Beef, again very generous portions, veg and gravy delicious, unfortunately let down by very tough, chewy beef 😒 Husband gave up and left it behind (we did inform waitress so as to give feedback to the kitchen) daughter cleared her plate but agreed the meat was hard work. All Yorkshire puddings (5) that came to the table were unfortunately various degrees of burnt. So all in all, mixed feelings, unfortunately let down by lukewarm soup, tough beef and burnt yorkies! Sorry Crown & Anchor for the criticism but you're best knowing so you can rectify but everything else was amazing! 😊 It was very busy so obviously very popular. Good central location. The staff were nice and the atmosphere...

We decided to eat at the crown and anchor yesterday for lunch after visiting the aquarium, we had a table of 10 that a member of our group had booked, we were asked to pre order the food which we did the day before, we arrived for our table and the place was empty bar 2 tables so we thought great, 4 of our party were kids so we checked with the staff that they knew we wanted kids roast dinners etc, drinks arrived fine then the 4 adult beef arrived, we then waited 8 mins for the other food to arrive, we were then further disappointed with the adult chicken which came out as one leg and a thigh, no breast at all, then we were alerted with our 5 year old saying he’d got a small bone in his mouth from the chicken he was eating, this is not good at all and a massive red flag, chef should not be serving bones to kids, the roast gammon came out with griddled pineapple on? I can understand it with a steak but not roast gammon

We quickly finished up and got out of there, no atmosphere with the staff in a loud gaggle with nothing to do.

We won’t be back

The sign outside saying food fit for a king is just...

Came down for the Sunday Roast Menu Went for the 2 course option. Portion sizes were incredible and the flavour was amazing. Chicken Liver Parfait, highly recommend and ANY of their roast dinners. Great tender meat, homemade Yorkshire puddings and each vegetable is seasoned and cooked to perfection.

Partnered with this you get FANTASTIC service. Kind, fun and attentive and very personable and professional. We were served by Oli Who made our first visit awesome so we will be back again! 2 courses were a little too much for my appetite and there was no question of the quality of food. The chefs care.

Live sport on and good music at a nice volume, lovely atmosphere... Even had a magician going table to table... Knocked it out of the park for our first time!

Guinness - perfect, great glass threading and clear Jail Ale - Cellar cooled and crisp full bodied...
