The Tudor Rose Tearooms & Garden - Reopens on Wednesday 4th February 2026 — Restaurant in Plymouth

Wanted to leave a review for The Tudor Rose after we went last week. We decided to try it as we like to get afternoon tea in the different places we visit and it sounded like a lovely place…and we’re so glad we did. We were a ‘walk in’ and had not booked, when we asked the lovely lady that greeted us about it she was really nice and friendly and said they take walk ins and there was no problem. We got the Ultimate Afternoon Tea which also included a miniature cup of soup which was something different but was really nice. The food was great and really filling but we were told we could get any uneaten items bowed up to take with us. My wife doesn’t drink tea or coffee but there was absolutely no problem for her to swap out for a different drink. The staff were all lovely and the place had a lovely charm about it. All the teapots had different tea cosies on them which made us smile and added to the charm of the place. Absolutely awful women who owns this. Food got delivered to our house by accident, I took the food as we are a shared house but when we found out it was no one’s order we googled the place and found out they were closed, by this time the food has already been in our house for 45 minutes. We waited for the delivery driver to return. 5 days later the owner came to our house, unannounced and uninvited (surly against some kind of GDPR) accusing us of theft and expecting us to pay for their mistake. The women was incredibly agressive and confrontational. She tried to guilt us and say an old lady could not eat that night, she said we had no common decency and just was incredibly rude I CANNOT believe this women felt it was okay to turn up to our HOME. Nice roast tho would take free ones again

We had a awful experience with the manager of this place, in which she came to our house unannounced expecting us to reimburse an error of the business. Food was delivered to our address by this woman that was meant to go to a different address. We took the food into the house as it is a shared accommodation that another tenant may have ordered. The restaurant was closed by the time we realised so was too late to rectify the mistake they made, and the customers did not contact the restaurant themselves. Five days later, this woman approached us in a confrontational way, accusing us of stealing and acting immorally due to a mistake made by her self. It felt very threatening for a group of young girls and she would not leave out door stop until we ‘resolved’ the situation. I would never like to visit an establishment under this kind...
