Mr Woks Ltd — Restaurant in Plymouth

When we go into Plymouth we always spend a whole day, shopping and looking around. At the end of the day we always crave a nice bubble tea, something nice for the journey home on the train. We always go to Mr Woks for our bubble tea as it is always perfect. When you enter you are greeted with the most amazing smell, the food smells amazing. The dining areas are pretty small but a cosy feeling. The selection for the tea and pearls are not the most vast, however, has some of my favourites. I usually go for the honeydew as it is amazing, beautiful taste! I have tried all of the flavours so far with most of the pearl combinations. All of them have been amazing, bursting with flavour. When you are on the train sipping on the bubble tea relaxing before you get back, amazing feeling! Missing it with this pandemic. We have never had food there as it is always by the end of the day, however I really want to try it as, the smell is incredible. Keep meaning to order some food. I really recommend the bubble tea from here, some times with tapioca pearls they can be bitty and grainy however here, they have always been perfectly done. One of the better Thai place's I've eaten at, especially in Plymouth!

Dining in is an option which is available to you, although the establishment is VERY small so I could imagine that when it's busy, it may be hard to find a seat as the only seating available is just a table which runs along the wall from the serving counter to the front door with bar stools

The food however, is of a great standard of quality & value for money! The dishes are very reasonably priced, with standard portion sizes that you'd expect from an Asian food place of this nature The Thai green curry, and the panang curry are both among the best I've had! I also really enjoy the satay chicken & spring rolls whenever I have them to accompany my main dish!

I highly recommend the alcohol-infused bubble tea, it's a little bit pricey given the alcohol content that you get but they're definitely worth a try! They make a good range of different cocktails & you can choose the sort of popping bubbles you'd like to have added to the drink! They're really nice & refreshing, with really nice flavours!

All round I'd say it's definitely worth a try if you like this style of cuisine, you definitely can't go wrong...

When arriving there were no clean tables. We had our table cleared of plates but no one came over to wipe the table that was full of sauce and had bits of food all over it. When asking a question about the food, we were sharply asked if we had a gluten allergy which we explained wasn’t the issue. The young male waiter, rudely and randomly said no then stormed away. Leaving us stood at the till embarrassed! So we waited and no one came over to serve us, not friendly service at ALL! We had no choice but to order via the app which wasn’t helpful due to our dietary requirements so had to pick something which wasn’t what we wanted and it wasn’t very nice. The food for the whole of our table arrived in massively staggered times, we almost finished the food that was brought out first by the time the last food item had arrived.

Overall, not helpful or friendly staff, the food was okay but not if you actually want to eat the whole of your meal at the same time.
