Escapism Plymouth — Local services in Plymouth

Unfortunately we had a disappointing experience this time. We arrived and had to wait an extra 10 mins as the room we were using had not been reset, we got through the first part of the room in fairly good time but when we got to the second half we found ourselves stuck as some of the components in the room had not been put back in the right place, we found some parts under some furniture along with a LOT of dust but basically spent 15 mins or so trying to solve a puzzle that we didn't have all the pieces to, we tried a number of times to request help or clues but got no assistance (we assumed that the lack of staff meant that our room wasn't being monitored properly) We failed to solve the room and after explaining to the staff the problems we faced we were offered £15 off our next room. On reflection I feel that we should have either got a refund or offered a free experience for our next trip as the room wasn't set up or monitored properly. We all left disappointed and have opted for an alternative escape room for our next outing. Very sad as we all had a great time on our last visit. ☹

Edit:- I'd like to acknowledge to speedy and generous response to our last visit. We were contacted the day after by the Escapsim team and offered a new room for our group free of charge, we will be rebooking when our team are all free and are looking forward to our next visit. Have visited Escapism twice now (3rd visit is booked) It was a great experience from start to finish . Something I have never done before . The staff obviously love their work and you get swept along with the excitement. Everything is explained well , how to use different padlocks and how to get out if you need to . Then the rest is up to you 😁 You will get clues through a tv if you get really stuck . We only had 25 seconds left on our first visit so we’re very excited when we got out , and on that excitement we booked to go back a few weeks later with the offered discount if we booked then . You can just book a date and change it if you need to if you give them 48 hours notice . The 2 rooms we have done were very different and both great fun . All finished with the group photo holding various signs . Love the card you get at the end with all the details on .. how long you had left and how many clues you had . Love Escapism! This was my third time coming here and I cant wait to go again. We firstly had to do a quick safety briefing with Penny. She was great and explained about fire exists, what would happen in the event of a fire and where we need to meet, she advised about going to the toilet during the game if needed and she explained all the different pad locks types we might come across in our room. She was friendly, polite and did a great job. Our game host Charlie then showed us to our room and explained to us what the story for this room was and what our objective was. When we were in the room, we did get a bit stuck so Charlie did have to give us a few clues. He was great, he let us try but when he could see we were struggling, a clue popped up on the screen which we were greatful for. The game definitely made us think, but it was so much fun.
