Tee's Place Restaurant — Restaurant in Portsmouth

DISGUSTING On 5/10/24 I ordered jollof rice, jerk chicken and plantain from Tees Place. I have to report that it was absolutely DISGUSTING. The rice was burnt I tried a few spoonfuls to make sure of what I was tasting. It was definately burnt. You could smell it strongly. The plantain was oily and soggy. The jerk chicken was also well below standard. I reported this on their review, I wanted to give a zero but I was unable to. In my view the meal deserved a below zero rating. We came to Portsmouth for five days and ate out in several restaurants. Tees was definately below standard. I tried to report to Trustpilot but the restaurants name was not there. I will do further investigations so that others know about the standards of Tees Place.

Plantain? Love their plantain. By all means order fried plantain whenever you are here if you like plantain. Their stew is good. Chicken suya also quite good. I’ve attached a picture after tasting a few pieces. Moi moi? too salty please 🥹 if anything can be done about this one, kindly do it . I've had a couple of their soups, all good. Also their grilled fish and Yam/plantain is filling and also tasty. This last one? Whatever you do, avoid ordering the shawarma (at least for now). Even in Nigeria, it takes trying out a couple of spots to actually find a legit, « this shawarma is a hit » shawarma place.

Tee, this shawarma so mushy inside, it felt like I tried to drink mayonnaise and ketchup. The external part of wrap is sooooo dry, it cracks on its own. I cannot even make this up. Whoever is making that shawarma needs to calm...

I have been in here twice, once to eat in and the second time I order for delivery. The fist time I went there the one staff member I could find looked confused, so I could not ask any questions. Food almost took 1:30 to come out which was ridiculous because there was just one table along with mine that was occupied. After 45min she came out to inform me there was no beef I was just fed up at that point.

Yesterday however I tried to give this place another go and order delivery. My pounded yam was not wrapped properly it was sticking to the paper bag and the tissue. My £12 suya had 6 pieces of beef.
