Elle's Baguettes — Restaurant in Reading

It was ok but can't justify scoring higher than this. They pride themselves on value but 2 quid for a small cookie is diabolical. The Jerk Chicken baguette doesn't actually say whether it comes in sauce or not - it does, and so much of it, and it's not nice jerk sauce it's like a sickly sweet bbq sauce. Also came with peppers that were also sweet; didn't ask for them only cucumber - I absolutely hate peppers in sandwiches. The Baguette quality was meh - it's probably not stored very well as it was slightly stale. Unfortunately after moving to Reading I'm having really bad luck with finding good food on Oxford Road and this is just another one to add to the list.

At some point I may try again with a different sandwich filling and if it's better I'll update the review because the sandwich itself I thought would have been worth the money if I enjoyed it more, in terms of the amount of filling you get and the size. Mostly because you don't get a 4.8 star rating for being mediocre, so there's got to be something more...

Got to be my top sandwich shop in reading. No messing around when it comes to fillings and the deals are an absolute bargain. Staff are always friendly and willing to serve and have a little chat too.

Edit** after 3 years since my original review I have to be honest.... nothing has changed still my go to local sandwich shop even when ordered on just eat they are absolutely perfect beats subway any...
