The food is simply outstanding. Madoo’s menu is a celebration of Italian cuisine, with every dish crafted using high-quality ingredients that make each bite a delight. What truly sets Madoo apart is the passion and care that’s evident in every aspect of the café. The people behind the counter are as much a part of the experience as the food itself. They bring a genuine warmth and enthusiasm that makes every visit special. Whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor, you’re treated like family.
In short, Madoo is a gem in Reading, a place where you can savor the best of Italy without leaving town. The focaccia sandwiches and pistachio croissants are our personal favorites, but honestly, everything on the menu is worth trying. This café is a little piece of Italy that you’ll want to visit...
Read moreI popped by Madoo on a Saturday afternoon after only recently becoming aware of its existence, with it not being on the main high street. I was warmly welcomed and the staff were so friendly and helped me in making my choice of Cannoli filling - the Pistachio. First, the cannoli are freshly filled, so big points for that! Also, I love that they do a Pistachio and ricotta/marscapone mix for the filling opposed to just Pistachio cream. Now this Cannoli was beautiful and tasted very authentically Italian. The Cannoli shell was beautiful crisp, as it should be, and the filling strong in Pistachio and a lovely smooth texture. The atmosphere in the cafe was also welcoming, light and airy, and I love that they sell a selection of Italian snacks e.g. cookies and biscuits also! The Cannoli was so good I ended up taking two away to enjoy later, which were boxed up for me and bought to my table. I would highly recommend Madoo, and will definitely be coming back for a cannoli (or two!) and to try some of there...
