What a bad experience, we decided to go there for a table of 8 to celebrate a 52 year wedding anniversary. All started well as we arrived at around 4:30pm offering drinks. Soon after they people kept coming to the table saying you need to order your food as you have kids, despite the fact they were 13 and 9 and sat very quietly in a corner booth, we kept saying that we are waiting for one more person to arrive who was due to finish work at 5pm from another local business. We kept being asked that you need to order your food. A waitress then came and said don’t worry if you haven’t eaten all your food by 6 pm aslong as you have ordered it by then as we had kids. We ended up ordering our food and I placed the order for the guest who had yet to arrive. The food arrived which was very average and rushed, just before 6pm a waitress cleaned the table and offered more drinks which we took up the offer. Only 5 minutes later precisely 6:03 came to the table with her hand he’d terminal and said that we need to pay and leave. We planned on sharing the bill but my mother in law who was celebrating her wedding anniversary was so shocked and paid the bill as she wanted to get out as quickly as possible. We asked could we just take our remaining drinks and sit outside as we are not allowed inside with young children, she replied NO you just need to leave the premises, as it’s not worth my licence. We spent a lot of money, and everything that the hospitality industry has gone through recently I would suggest that you respect the custom you have. I have also supplied a photo of your very own T&C’s to make the manager aware of Oneils policy on children dining.

As an Irish rugby fan who's watched all the six nations matches in O'Neils for many years it is very disappointing that I had to watch Ireland lifting the 6 Nations and Triple Cup on a phone because the pub was more interested in putting on Ant and Dec than watching Ireland lift the cup. There was a large Irish presence in the pub on 18/3/23 but even when requested that the channel was changed to ITV4 to continue coverage it was declined and staff were 'unable' to help. If England had won the grand slam I'm sure the situation would have been very different. I will not be returning and either will the Irish supporters I was with today. Very disappointing for a bar with an Irish flag on it's door.

As i used to like this place before, i came with my husband to eat this evening, we ordered a mega mix grill we've been served by a blonde bar waitress, she didn't bring us any share plates or even ask us if we need but they knew we were sharing it. My husband went to ask her for some plates, we waited a while for 2 plates the food wasn't even that warm at that point ( no one came to ask us and check if the food is okay), also we asked for medium well steak but the steak was medium, so my husband went again to her to ask the chef to put the steak on the grill for another 2-3 mins as is not medium well. We finished the food and the steak still didn't come we waited 20 mins already and i asked a waiter to bring the manager as we wanted an explanation, literally no one came to us. The blonde girl came back to us after a while saying" the steak is taking a while as they put another one' we wanted to say that we don't even want it anymore and we are waiting already for more than 20 mins for it but we didn't manage to say anything cause she turned her back while i was trying to talk to her. It was very rude and unprofessional especially cause she heard me talking, we felt very uncomfortable and not welcome. The steak shouldn't take 20 mins even if they put a new one..Very unprofessional and rude attitude. The only reason why we ate the rest of the food it was cause we paid for it from the first place. But if we wouldn't pay it before i was going to refuse the whole plate. When we seen we've been ignored and not treated like...

The staff here are great but are let down by their rude and unprofessional manager.

I was a customer on Saturday 15th April, in the hours before and during the Grand National, which the pub was showing on screens. Despite being on the screens in the minutes before the race, they didn’t have the volume on and were blasting out music instead. So I approached the manager and politely asked when they’d be turning off the music and turning on the TV sound as everyone in the pub was there to watch the race. He responded bluntly ā€œIt’ll be on when it’s on!ā€

Somewhat take aback by his rude manner, I asked again when this would be. He repeated ā€œIt’ll be on when it’s on!ā€ He went on to say it would be turned on only during the race itself.

His persona was one of arrogance, distain and passive aggression.

Indeed, he always comes across this way to paying customers. He never smiles at customers or staff. He is regularly seen standing at the end of the bar, texting on his phone, and not assists his hard-working staff behind the bar, even when it’s really busy. I’ve been told information about his behaviour by a member of staff but won’t divulge this in case it gets that staff...
