Pepe's — Restaurant in Reading

I was served by S. Ahmed, who displayed an unacceptable level of service. My order was taken incorrectly despite me clearly specifying what I wanted. I was charged for two meals when I only ordered one, and no refund was offered. Instead, I was blamed for the mistake, which was both frustrating and unprofessional.

When I got home, I discovered an even bigger issue: I was given chicken instead of the paneer I had ordered. This mistake is particularly concerning, as it shows a complete lack of attention to detail and disregard for customer instructions.

Not only was I overcharged, but I also received the wrong food and was made to feel at fault for their error. This experience was completely unacceptable, and I will not be returning to this branch. The staff clearly lack the competence to perform their duties, and I strongly urge management to review their training and service standards to prevent such incidents...

Regrettably, my experience at this Pepe's was the worst I've encountered in the UK. As a loyal customer across the country, this particular branch fell significantly short of Pepe's usual standards. Opting for my favorite, chicken and rice, proved disappointing. Despite the near-empty establishment, the order took an unusually long time to be served. The rice was overcooked and waterlogged, lacking flavor, while the chicken tasted bland, akin to frozen poultry. The overall cleanliness of the facility was also subpar, with abandoned items on tables left unattended. The food is very tasty but the staff in there aren’t great. Ordered on the app for collection at 19:40. When I got there at that time they hadn’t started cooking my meal. I wouldn’t mind if it was busy but there were very few others in there and they weren’t cooking anything else, So I had to wait around for 15 mins getting hangry. When I got back home I realised the guy hadn’t put the drink in that I ordered as part of my meal. Also I had 3 pieces of chicken and one of them was the smallest piece of chicken ever, about the size of my pinky.
