TANATAN — Restaurant in Reading

We decided to try a different Indian restaurant and without a doubt we made the right decision, and it left us wanting to go back for more.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating and went out of their way to help and advise us.

I ordered Kadai Lamb and Signature Garlic Naan (SGN), whilst my two friends chose Fish Masala with Egg Fried Rice, and Saag Lamb with Vegetable Fried Rice. To share we had Onion Crispy Fritters - this is a bowl of Onion Bhaji bits, which is a really great idea because all of the bits are crispy and are easy to share between several people. We also shared a Spiced Cauliflower and Potato Duet (what I would call an Aloo Gobi).

The Kadai Lamb was probably one of the most flavoursome and perfectly spiced Indian dishes I have ever had - and I have had a lot in my time! The SGN was also very tasty, with Ghee, fresh Coriander and a combination of seeds.

I didn't try my friend’s dishes, but they both said they really enjoyed their meals, and we all agreed that this is our new favourite.

I have one very slight criticism. There could have been a little more description of the dishes on the menu. I wanted a Garlic Naan and asked them to put some chopped coriander on. They advised going for the SGN, but from the menu I wouldn't have known what it was.

Keep up the good work and don't let those chefs go anywhere - the food was great!

We recently celebrated our daughter’s 18th birthday at Tanatan Restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the ambience, service, and food were all 5/5.

The staff and manager were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Their customer service was top-notch, and they were so accommodating that they even prepared dishes that weren’t on the menu!

The authentic flavors and freshness of the food truly stood out. Every dish was scrumptious, and our family and friends were absolutely blown away by the taste.

Some of our favorite dishes included Chicken 65, Paneer 65, Jackfruit Biryani, Chilli Fritters, Dal, and Gulab Jamun—each one bursting with flavor!

Was going done to get other restaurant for food and find Tanatan restaurant open. Walk in to restaurant and have great welcome by owner and manager. Really great to had starter main course.

Though May be new open and that welcome, so thought of visiting again after 1 month and same welcome and services. Due to great test in food and trying different dishes visited Tanatan restaurant 4-5 times and always get surprised with taste and great Indian authentic test.

Had lots of variety of dishes of vegetarian for me and my friend having non-vegetarian dishes and he likes it too. Lots of variety of dishes I ate and hard to pick one with is best but still I like bhindi masala and stuff eggplant was best.

Usually not take much phone but great food makes me to take photo for other see beauty of food at Tanatan and really recommended to visit and taste great...
