Heavenly Desserts Rochdale — Restaurant in Rochdale

I’ve been in heavenly dessert about 1/2 years ago for some drinks and pancakes and in that time it was lovely, the food, the quality, the prices, the customer service was amazing ladies. However very disappointedly after a long time today i decided to visit there with few of my friends, and they had upgraded the tables and the menu. First step when we walked in it was a girl that we asked her like oh is that fine if we sit anywhere we want or is it fine if we sit anywhere, and she turned back to the other lady and very loud she was like “Oh should i say yes?” Like did she wanted to kick us out? It was like a very poor and unprofessional of them to act like that infront of a customer! And we had waited there for long time and the teo girls they didn’t bothered to reply to our politely question! And she said oh you can sit anywhere (other than those tables that we need booking) so we wanted to sit on the first table and she was like oh no not that one the other ones with a rude way! It was not the only thing that made me ver Uncomfortable! I had the best pancakes here before, i am a very honest person, the food and desserts here were delicious! But when it came to ordering she came, she didn’t say anything like” oh can i take your orders?” In the most basic way! Me and the girls were just staring at her because it’s rude to just say oh can i get this and that, so then we were waiting for her and she gave the dirtiest look to all of us and she just said “okay humm?” That was it! And my friend gave her order first she didn’t bothered to open her mouth and say okay! She was just saying “hmm” and then i started to gave my order and in the middle she just cutted off and turned back to my friend “oh you wanted this topping?” We all had to repeat ourself many times because of the lack of communication! A basic thing people learn on the training days! She wouldn’t ask or communicate properly like she was annoyed by us being there, and my other friend she wanted to order some water and she just left ! And when my friend was like excuse me shouting, she didn’t come back in the midway she just said okay! And later on she even did not bring water for us, the other lady was quiet nice she spoke very nicely but I’m sorry i was so frustrated by that girl! And the pancake, it looked amazing but from one of the old customers, they had gone down alittle bit, the pancakes used to be way more bigger and more sweet, the biscoff sause i had paid £1.55, which it is a little bit alot and i was fine because i thought okay they will put it on to cover it enough to get the biscoff taste, but it was a little bit rizzle, like if you guys are not happy to work, why do you waste people’s day? I get so frustrated by olaces like this and i never expected this from heavenly dessert, and at the end most disappointing thing was the BAD strawberries. Me myself i am a manager in a cakeshop, and i know the difference between a healthy strawberry and an Old Expired Strawberries! The place is good, and the product they use is good, but they need to be more serious about the people tho… respectfully what they did today was absolutely...

I come to this dessert place quite often as Heavenly is a franchise which is quite popular, and it’s one of the few dessert places in Rochdale open till quite late. I usually come in the evening on a week day to avoid the weekend rush. This place is 100% halal. This time, we came on a Monday night at around 6.30pm.

There were no customers present other than my friend and I. We didn’t mind it being quiet, and we were able to choose where we wanted to sit which was nice. There were three people serving us, and it didn’t seem like they were taking phone call orders, so it seemed quite chill.

I didn’t want anything cold as it was already cold outside. I asked for the Berry French Toast, but without the ice cream. When I said this to the female server, she looked at me in confusion and didn’t understand this simple change. Instead, I asked for whipped cream, and she said that would be a valid alternative to the ice cream. I also wanted a hot drink, so I asked about whether any of the hot drinks could be made decaf. She replied “Sorry, I have no idea”. Surely, you make the drinks from scratch and should know what goes in them. Because of her lack if understanding of what I wanted, I ended up choosing the Limited Edition Macadamia Hot Chocolate. I knew ordering a hot chocolate would be loaded with sugar, but what choice did I have? My friend ordered a Make It Yourself pancake stack with fruit and ice cream. My friend also got the Limited Edition Waffle Latte.

We waited at least 20 minutes for the food to come. The first thing that came was my friend’s latte. It was served with a heaping of cream and only half the glass was filled with the beverage. Not worth the price in both of our options. The cream started to melt and the food came at last 10 minutes later. During that time, one of the servers were on their phone, while the other started to take another table’s order. We wondered whether they had forgotten about our desserts.

I was disappointed with my order (please see photos). The servers forgot about my whipped cream, and the french toasts were drenched in jam. It looked like something I could have made at home. The hot chocolate was tasty, but again, the glass was only half full and loaded with cream. It was also extremely sweet, and tasted more like chocolate praline than macadamia. I wouldn’t recommend this drink if you don’t like overly sweet beverages. My friend’s order was decent but she said it tasted average - nothing special.

Overall, I had an interesting experience at Heavenly Desserts last night. Other times I’ve been, the staff have been more present and have expressed better customer service. I would come again, but perhaps next time, I would be more specific based on what I want, and I would probably speed the servers up if they take too long.

Service wasn’t great. Placed an order for take out, waited around 45 minutes-1 hour for 2 cakes and 3 cookie doughs & 1 milkshake. As someone who has previously worked as a dessert maker in a restaurant, I know how important it is for customer satisfaction and for everything to be made at a good quick time, not making the customer wait for the most basic orders. The 2 cakes which were cut and not exactly home made could have easily have been taken from the fridge and packed up within 5 minutes, the milkshake could have been done within 5-10 minutes and the cookie dough should have been done within 10-15 minutes, considering there was 4 members of staff behind the counter the service was very very slow. I was watching one of the girls and she would rather pick up her same drink 20 odd times, drink it and put it down quicker than preparing my order. All members of staff just standing around in a corner chatting to themselves, not exactly doing their job how they should be. When placing my order I specifically asked to make sure there were added strawberries AS AN EXTRA because I know on the menu you guys don’t provide strawberries with the cookie dough, I paid for everything to then arrive home and find no strawberries on any of the desserts. The cookie dough was also very very very disappointing, despite having no strawberries on which I asked for when placing my order, which I’m assuming I was charged for, I paid almost £27 for 3 cookie doughs the same size of my 2 year old brothers hands. The portion was appalling. I also didn’t receive any receipt. I live very local to heavenly desserts and have had no issues previously. £47 wasted.
