As a loyal customer of Tribez Bolton it was time for me to check this new branch out.
First impression, wow, amazing setup from the shop sign to the decorations inside.
Unfortunately Google Maps takes you to the paid shopping centre car park which is about a five/six minute walk to the restaurant. So location wise I would say it's a bit of a strange place. For outsiders it's not that simple finding a nearby street for free parking. Maybe Tribez should knock off a couple of quid for customers parking at the shopping centre car park, this would be a good way to welcome customers.
Toilets were nice and clean unlike the only one shared Male and Female toilet in Bolton. The downside of the toilets here is there is no access to water, should fit bidets. Should also provide a quiet room for prayers etc.
Atmosphere was quite dead, could do with some tunes in the background. I was impressed with the Pods, nice part-private seating that can fit four adults.
Staff were nice and mainly local but could do with a little more training. Keep in mind this is a Steakhouse, customers are paying a premium price so the service and atmosphere needs to be premium too, a little smile can go a long way. Also, educate your employees in regards to the Steaks and menu, I get it's new for them but for a lot of customers the first impression is the last.
To the main part, I can't really complain about the food, Lamb Chops as always were spot on, best in the UK without a doubt. Steaks depend on who is the Chef, I feel the Bolton Chefs are experts and get it spot on whereas this time my Steak was a bit too well done.
Biggest downside was not accepting card payments, like come on guys this is 2022, you're in the middle of a shopping centre, we are not paying £5/£10, you can't expect everyone to walk around with £60/£70 cash. I really hope you introduce card payments soon otherwise you will drive customers away. Sorry but the bank transfer option is not professional and wastes a lot of time. It takes away from the experience.
Between Bolton and Rochdale, I would say for the food standard, the Bolton branch wins. If you're a big group and want a nice atmosphere then Rochdale is the place for you.
I've knocked one star off so that they can hopefully improve and I look forward to changing this review to five stars at my next visit.
All the best guys and hope it works...
Read moreWe went here to break our fast and of course we were expecting it to be busy so we arrived 30 minutes before iftar and we were fine with waiting for our food; they served us complementary dates and water for iftar time which we were very happy with to eat while we waited patiently for our food.
However even though we had arrived with plenty of time despite not being a booking we had hour orders taken about 30-40 mins after we arrived, and the food arrive 2 hours after we arrived.
The whole restaurant had left by then including bookings which had arrived later than us, and we were the only ones left to eat by the time we received our burgers. When we asked the staff they said there had been a mix up with the orders and our food went to another table who arrived much later than we did. When we did receive the other half of our tables order the burger was half cooked with it being RAW on the inside which gave the table food poisoning the day after.
Ontop of this the whole restaurant was like a hot box, the amount of smoke building up was suffocating since there seemed to be a lack of an extractor fan.
When we complained at the end when paying our bill they offered us complementary lamb chops only if we ate them in house, however we refused as we just wanted to leave and then the owner took offence to that and said, ‘we offered you lamb chops which are very expensive and you didn’t want them so there’s nothing much else we can do’. After awhile they settled for 10% off a bill which still came to 50 ish pounds. Understandably some members of the table were angry having to wait another 2 hours after not eating for already 15 hours and asked for a bigger discount but was instantly shot down by a rude manager who decided to take our complaints as an attack on them instead of criticism.
Would not recommend going especially if it busy as it seems the quality and customer service...
Read moreOn the rare occasion that a group of 30+ year olds can organise a meal out, we decided to visit this new place called Tribez. Great name and even better decor inside.
The 5 of us arrived to a 20 minute wait to be seated which is expected on a Saturday night. The menu had a selection of some quality Angus beef steaks and gourmet burgers. I tried a 14oz Angus steak which is pictured in this review. Came with veggies which could have been a little more firmer for my tastes and 2 other sides. I chose onion rings and sweet potato fries that were fried well. The steak came "medium". We had to specifically ask for this as they only had "medium rare" or "medium well" which for the 3 of us that ordered steak was too far on either side of the cooking spectrum.
The steak was good but I noticed that they had tenderised it by smashing it with a hammer which is not how I prefer my steaks. The sauces were incredible however, very tasty.
The staff were very friendly and helpful however some of the younger staff were not as well trained as the young manager Usman who was taking care of us. He was taking our order but was interrupted and taken away multiple times by the inexperienced staff to sort issues they were having. He was courteous and gave the table a portion of lamb chops to compensate which was admirable. The lamb chops were amazingly good. Next time I go here, I'm definitely ordering that.
All in all, good food and even better service. Give this place a go and you won't be...
