We were Glutened !!

I am diagnosed celiac and my husband is Gluten intolerant..we visited this cafe and ordered 2 Gluten free cheese burgers. The lady taking our order was not English and we had trouble communicating with her...we were told the chips were not gluten free which was fair enough so went ahead with the 2 cheese burger orders. We were then approached by another staff member who told us they could not provide 2 cheese burgers but we could have two chicken burgers instead also as we had paid for the fries which we could not have they told us they would replace the fries with two soups. The meal was ok.....chicken burgers were not nice they were cheap reformed chicken deep fried frozen chicken steaks in a brioche bun..

Two hours after this meal i was physically sick from ingesting gluten and my husband suffered for three days with abdominal pain from also ingesting gluten. We don't know which part of the meal contained the gluten and we are certain there was gluten in some of our meal. This was not some cross contamination issue this was us eating food that was not gluten free going off our symptoms...

Will not be visiting again and celiac/gluten intolerant sufferers beware of the gluten free food offered...

My daughter and I stumbled upon cafe wander on Wednesday afternoon. We were looking for a light snack and a gluten free option for me. I was delighted to find lentil soup and bread both gluten free and both very good. My daughter Phoebe had soup and a panini. She usually takes 3 spoons of soup and half a dozen bites of panini and leaves the rest but she ate the lot!! That's how lovely the lentil soup was. The lady who served us was very welcoming and friendly. You could see it was service with a smile even with her mask on. It was a lovely relaxed environment. We didn't feel rushed. Everywhere exceptionally clean. We plan to return and try something else on the menu. We'll probably bring My Mum aswel next time too. If there's gluten free bread there'll be gluten free cake. 🍰. So, table...

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet. I LOVE Cafe Wander. Me and my Monkey had just arrived in Glasgow after an overnight bus ride from Birmingham and desperately needed food. A quick google showed Cafe Wander to be quite close so I took a chance and walked round. Best Glasgow decision made in a long time. Both me and my Monkey were made to feel welcome. The food is delicious, really good value, what better to welcome ye back than Scottish sliced sausages as part of a fab breakfast. But there's way more to the menu than that. Way more. The staff are really brilliant too. Friendly and attentive yet not intrusive. And the cafe itself, set downstairs off the street is...

Overall the cafe was ok for an on a budget breakfast, but I’d not recommend it or come back. The cafe was incredibly full so service was quite slow, although it was obvious the waiting staff were trying their best. The food was average at best: my breakfast roll was very dry and old, and the potato patty and sausage part both dry and chewy. The porridge was great, I wish it was a smaller portion or more fruits were there: it was a huge bowl of porridge with barely a strawberry 🍓 on top and a few banana slices. Cooked breakfast was ok. The cafe was quite dirty with both dishes and tables being old and not very clean. The tea was excellent, probably the best part of the whole breakfast.

First time visiting Glasgow I came here for breakfast at 8 AM. The person with the keys arrived a little late due to some scheduling issues so I had to wait outside with the staff for a few minutes but it was no big deal, they were very friendly and apologetic for the delay. I ordered the Full Scottish Breakfast and a large Chai latte. It was very tasty and filling. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and I love getting to try how other countries do breakfast. I'll admit the beans are definitely an acquired taste but they weren't awful. Prices were really good for the amount of food. Cute little place and very friendly atmosphere.

Strange cafe that's both a hit and a miss for me. I love how it's situated underground and the staff are super friendly, but the food is quite good at best and disappointing at worst, from my experience. I ordered the chai latte, and from first glance it looked incredible. However, it was undrinkably sweet, and I swapped it for a pretty good cappuccino. In all, an okay experience, with a woeful chai latte. The restaurant itself was a mix of different styles that were confusing, and some chairs were good whereas others were hard and unusable. Also, the floors were a strange mix, with bumps in levels that were odd. Overall, eh
