Dr. Noodles — Restaurant in Scotland

Rice was undercooked which i got a refund for. I dont normally complain but i had to as the food was inedible. The sauce was great and veg was fine but the chicken feels really cheap. My wife actually thinks its not chicken but some soy chicken hybrid because the texture is so off. I think its just cheap precooked chicken which at £9.50 a box - YES, £9.50 - shouldn't really be the case. Hearing staff argue about fag breaks wasnt great for the service side of things. The cleanliness of the place was awful as well. This is not the staffs fault, per say, there just doesnt seem to be a system in place which comes from upper management. The floor was sticky and there was a baby chair there that we needed but i held my child instead as it looked disgusting. Floor around it covered in crumbs. This felt like a students house and when it comes to food you need to firstly be clean. This place feels neglected or understaffed. The owner is probably just content to let the money come in.

Yes it's expensive, but I've just never been disappointed by any Dr. Noodles meal. So tasty, versatile, customisable! As a vegan I'm a huge fan because their noodles are wheat and all their vegetarian sauces are also vegan (except for honey, duh). When I need a quick lunch, I grab a small box with just sauce, it still has some veg in it and is the perfect portion size, always fills me up. Not super cheap, but also not super greasy and unhealthy! The only criticism I have is that they stopped serving in sit-in bowls, so you'll always get a cardboard box. It's disappointing because of 1) the environmental impact and 2) the huge indoor and outdoor seating areas that will be used less now that it's a take out restaurant. Brill lunch time meal. I stopped in this week and got a small noodle box with all veg (£6.50).

The shop was quiet and I was served within a few minutes. On first glance the box appears quite small but actually it’s packed full and very filling. I couldn’t have ate anymore, at least at lunch time.

Everything tasted fresh and was very good. At the counter I was offered some toppings which I didn’t know was a thing (crispy onions, spring onions and sesame seeds) which I accepted and wasn’t charged anything for. It was well worthwhile and elevated the noodles.
