I attended Flight Club yesterday for my pals stag do. This was my first experience of the place. What an incredibly underwhelming , and quite frankly disappointing experience. Drinks prices are extortionate , the facilities are basic and the staff attitude is horrendous. Especially the DJ. I attempted to make small conversation with the DJ whilst enquiring if he was taking requests, as did my friend. The DJ was ignorant and rude to both of us, completely ignoring us the first time round. Giving the man the benefit of the doubt, I attempted to approach him again later and was met with a horrible and rude attitude. I was purely trying to enquire as to whether he was taking requests at all, and would’ve been fine if he said no. I understand that not all DJs play requests all the time. When I approached him the second time, his reply to me when he finally mustered up the brain power to speak was ‘did ye no think a heard ye the first time?’ Referring to my previous attempt at engaging in conversation. The man then told me he wasn’t taking requests as he was playing his last song . The man played for another hour. I also witnessed him taking requests from a party of women downstairs. I’d have appreciated if the guy simply just said ‘I don’t play requests for guys’. For a place that prides itself on atmosphere , it’s incredibly disappointing to be met with this attitude from staff. So, for anyone who reads this , if you want to pay through the nose for a terrible night out where the staff are rude and the atmosphere is crap then go to...
Read moreThe darts is fun and the venue is nicely done up. But it’s hard to look past the appalling service and ridiculous prices for very average food. There were some bright spots. The first bar person to serve us was great. And there were another couple of diligent people. And yeah, the darts is fun. But the front of houser who greeted us couldn’t have been more bored and grumpy. My team actually commented on her attitude when she walked away, and they’re a pretty easy-going lot. Another bar staffer spent her time chatting away to a colleague while four people waited at the bar to be served. She clearly knew we were there because she looked me in the eye. She didn’t serve us. Instead she wandered off somewhere, leaving the bar unstaffed and customers waiting. We ended up having to ask the receptionist to find someone to serve us, which brought a grumpy and stressed person to the bar to do the job her colleague couldn’t be bothered doing. This wasn’t only time people were left waiting to be served while we were there. Food that was booked two days earlier arrived 40 minutes into a 60 minute booking. And it cost £90 for two small platters of tasty but ok food. This was a quiet Wednesday afternoon. They were hardly rushed...
Read moreI came to flight club with girlfriend after we had a nice meal in town, looking to enjoy a nice cocktail or too to finish up the night. We entered after being ID’d and went on in to find a table after speaking the a gentleman at a desk near the entrance. Suddenly we were apprehended by a BALD, bearded gentleman who asked what we were doing. I told him we were to have a few drinks and he was incredibly rude. The BALD gentleman asked us if we had a booking, to which I replied no. The BALD gentleman, then went on to lecture us about how we should of asked before finding a table, and told us it was okay this time and to sit here. Forgive me, we spoke to a man at the entrance, right? There was no signposting at the entrance when we walked in. At The Alchemist across the street, you walk in and find a table and order at the bar, like normal. This BALD man, who I assume is some sort of manager based on the authority he seemed to attribute to himself, was incredibly rude. Drinks were fine. One can only assume the BALDNESS of this character led to some sort of deep anger that bubbles under the surface upon spying a couple with good heads of hair. Get this man in...
