If you're in the mood for some authentic Pakistani cuisine, Namak Mandi in Glasgow is the perfect place to satisfy your cravings. From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a vibrant and bustling street market in Peshawar, with the smells and sounds of sizzling meats and aromatic spices filling the air. The menu at Namak Mandi offers a range of traditional Pakistani dishes, with a focus on charcoal-grilled meats and hearty stews. We started our meal with the namak mandi mix grill, which was a generous platter of tender lamb chops, succulent chicken kebabs, and juicy beef skewers. Each item was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, with a delicious charred flavor that added depth and richness to the meats. For our main courses, we tried the karahi chicken and the lamb chops. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, with tender meat that was bursting with flavor. The karahi chicken was particularly outstanding, with a rich and fragrant tomato-based sauce that was perfectly balanced by the spices and herbs. We also ordered a side of garlic naan, which was fluffy and flavorful, and a must-have with any Pakistani meal. The service at Namak Mandi was friendly and attentive, with knowledgeable staff who were happy to offer recommendations and answer any questions we had about the menu. The restaurant itself is also beautifully decorated, with vibrant colors and intricate patterns that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Overall, I highly recommend Namak Mandi to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Pakistani cuisine. The food is outstanding, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming.

Update for Buffet/ June 2024 ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ ** Disappointing Buffet Experience: Unappetising Food and Unpleasant Aftereffects** Thought of giving this place a second go but BIG MISTAKE! I visited this buffet restaurant serving Pakistani food and was thoroughly disappointed. Arriving just an hour after opening, I found many platters looking far from fresh, and there was not much variety to choose from. The setting was absolutely neglected; we had to go downstairs into a very small hall that looked so casual, it felt like an abandoned place. Since we ate, my friend and I have been feeling very unwell, experiencing tummy upsets, dizziness, and headaches. The only redeeming factor was the staff, who were pleasant, helpful, and friendly. However, at £12 per head, this experience was a complete disgrace and not worth the money. So much hype for nothing. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. 2023 ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ I would give Zero stars if I could. Monday 8th May, we called to book our table at Namak mandi. We were 6 adults and 8 kids. We arrived at 7:30pm and we were served food at 9:15pm 😵‍💫 YES 9:15PM. Totally inconsiderate of their clients whom first waited very patiently but we started loosing our calm especially when after one and half hours of wait the waiter dared to ask what was our order. ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL. Couldn't enjoy the food, kids were hungry and tired, that generated so many bad moods, cries, etc... NOT HAPPY BY THEIR CUSTOMER DEALING. Immensely disappointed.

With a heavy heart, I'm changing my review for the restaurant from 5 stars to 1 star due to the disgraceful service we received today. We booked a table for 4 on Eid, unaware they were doing a buffet style. We requested to order from the menu, as some tables were getting served menu items, but we were forced to stick to the buffet. Upon checking their website, I learned the buffet is only from 12 to 3 PM, and we were there at 8 PM, so we should have been allowed to order from the menu. The buffet had about 10 dishes, including chana dal, chickpea and potato sabzi, but the signature dish was rarely available and had to be served by a waiter which is not buffet STYLE. The meat dishes were overly salty, the cold chicken pakoras and chapli kebabs were dry, and the carrot halwa was unappetizing. Despite paying £4 extra per drink, refills were not allowed, which is unacceptable for a buffet. (They refilled 2 glasses mentioning refilling not allowed.) Additionally, no one came to clear the used dishes from our table. They are charging £34 per person with drinks, which feels like a rip-off. I could have enjoyed 100 dishes at the World Buffet for only £23.99 per person plus £5 refilled drinks. The group of eight next to us was equally shocked at the price per head for overly salty meat, channa and chickpea dishes. I previously gave five stars when the restaurant was at its old location, where I received great service and food. This experience was a significant disappointment.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Namak Mandi, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Here’s a detailed review of my visit:

Food: The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the food. I tried both the Mandi and biriyani, and each dish was a delightful journey of authentic flavors and textures.

•Chicken Mandi: The Mandi was outstanding, featuring perfectly cooked, tender meat that practically melted in my mouth. The rice was aromatic and infused with a blend of spices that created a rich, flavorful base for the dish. The balance of flavors was perfect, and each bite was a testament to the authenticity and care that goes into the preparation. •Chicken Biriyani: The biriyani was equally impressive. The rice was fluffy and fragrant, with a generous portion of succulent meat. The spices were well-balanced, creating a rich and aromatic dish that was both satisfying and delicious. The accompanying raita added a refreshing contrast, making it a well-rounded meal.

Service: The service at Namak Mandi was top-notch. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made excellent recommendations and ensured that my dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. The service was prompt without being rushed, allowing me to savor each dish at a comfortable pace.

Ambiance: The ambiance of Namak Mandi is warm and inviting, creating a perfect setting for both casual meals and special occasions. The decor reflects a blend of traditional and contemporary styles, with comfortable seating and tasteful design elements that enhance the dining experience. The atmosphere was relaxed, making it easy to enjoy the meal and conversation.

Value: Considering the quality and authenticity of the food, Namak Mandi offers great value for money. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to enjoy high-quality desi cuisine without breaking the bank.

Conclusion: Namak Mandi is a gem for anyone seeking authentic and delicious desi food. The mandi and biriyani were both exceptional, showcasing the rich flavours and careful preparation that define good Indian cooking. Combined with excellent service and a cozy ambiance, Namak Mandi offers a dining experience that is both satisfying and memorable. I highly recommend it to anyone in search of authentic desi flavours and will definitely be returning to explore more...

The food: Beyond any expectation. Frankly I've eaten across the country from Dover to well Glasgow. I have to say that the food was authentic as you can get in the uk. I am a local of Manchester so I can confidently say that I know good south Asian restaurants and I know authentic food. This ranks amongst the top. The freshness, quality, and attention to detail is apparent in every morsel. I ordered the following: 1x Lamb Charsi karahi 1x chapli kebab platter 1x kabuli rice This was more than enough for 2 people and actually would have fed 3 people properly. We did request the lamb charsi to be spliced up a touch to suit our palate. Every single item was delicious and couldn't be complemented enough.

The service: The service was Top notch. We came in as a couple with an infant so for privacy told the server we would sit on one of the corner tables we saw. After a few minutes another server came to us extremely apologetic (confusing for us) saying "no no this is not right you should move! Who sat you in this corner there isn't enough space and it's not right for your child" etc. He kindly moved us to our booth and even carried the baby seat to the new booth! Every server we interacted with was sincere, kind, generous and most of all incredibly welcoming and understanding.

The ambiance: The ambiance was once again welcoming, warm, and palacial. The decor was beautiful and regal, the chairs were comfortable and the background music was also calming and relaxing.

All in all if you live in Glasgow, I am positive you must already have been here, if so go again! If you're passing by and looking for a spot. GO HERE!

I should probably get paid for how much I've written here but the experience was...
