A Night with Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill “Our Secrets Are the Same” at the Citizens Theatre, Glasgow What an incredible night at the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow for Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill’s book tour, Our Secrets Are the Same. Hearing them talk about their journey from their raw beginnings in the punk era to becoming one of the most successful Scottish bands of all time was both hilarious and deeply inspiring. Their stories were full of humour, heart, and the kind of down-to-earth honesty that reminds you why Simple Minds have meant so much to so many people for so long. I’m beyond grateful to both Jim and Charlie for taking the time to sign not only my copy of the book, but also my prosthetic leg! It’s not every day you get to walk (or roll!) away with such a unique memento. I do have to admit, though, that I was utterly mortified afterwards I was shaking so much from excitement that my motorised wheelchair decided to join in on the fun, doing what can only be described as a spontaneous bout of break dancing as I tried to leave the room! An unforgettable night full of laughter, stories, and a reminder of just how much these two have given to Scottish music and to their fans over the years. Also a very SPECIAL THANK YOU to the theatre staff who were exceptionally helpful and very kind.

First visit to the Citizens. It is a beautifully and carefully renovated building with great attention to detail. The show (Small Acts of Love) was sensational. Sat in the circle and was so pleased that there was good leg room and some thought put into the seating layout and the audience space in general. Ticket and bar prices are good and fair and the staff were all friendly, helpful and welcoming. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Glasgow institution. WQe go every year for their family panto, more a festive play, not a trad panto. Also recently saw the magnificent The Cheviot, the stag and the black black oil. Wonderful performance. Go about 3 or four times a year. great atmosphere and innovative shows.

I love the citizens theatre. It attracts a lot of great shows and a lot of great talent.

Seating in the theatre is relatively comfortable. I was recently there, and seated in a "restricted view" area. However, it was fine: at the end of a row, and near a pillar, but my view in no way restricted.

There is a bar that serves drinks before the show, during the interval, and after the show. Also, you can take your drinks into the theatre.

One thing worth bearing in mind if you plan to see a play there is its location. Away from the city centre, to get there you really need to drive or use public transport. Luckily there are bus stops outside and a subway station nearby. It's not the safest area of town to be wandering on a...

We went as a family to see the Christmas show from the Citz - The Jungle Book. I have to say (and I have been to a lot of shows at the Citz) that this was certainly our favourite!! My 6yr old daughter and 9 yr old son both loved it. Remember, this is the Citz, not the King's Theatre, so there is always artistic license and they have carried it off beautifully. Great interaction with the audience and plenty of laughs. Yes, there is (one) loud bang but it made you laugh, not 'scream in terror'!! Kids will be entranced and love...
