I adore R&F! I go every couple of months with my good friend. The food wine are delicious. Never had a bad experience. I just adore the debit and ambience. Always a great vibe. The staff are always wonderful too. Never more so than on Thursday when the wonderful Supervisor Sophie was our server. She looked after us so well! Thankyou 🥰 We did notice however that some of the usual R&F wonderful sides were now disappointedly off the menu, ie the amazing beetroot and feta, and the to die for broccoli. Which left only one veg, (although this phenomenal cabbage side was soooo delicious it must have been cooked by the devil himself!), three potato and two salad options as sides. We both had steak, and when you have steak it comes with fries so we really needed more veg/choice on the sides menu please! 😊 Also, the steak choices are also now fewer on the menu, with the fillet remaining and a new entry of a flat iron. No sirloin or ribeye. However the flat iron was perfect! Totally delicious and cooked to perfection! Wonderful value. I arrived to dirty tables surrounding me. 2 waitresses and 15 covers already past mains. 2 visible tables with 3 rounds of drinks sitting (ie the previous 2 rounds not cleared). I received Arancini discs. Cold. 2nd Arancini also discs, boiled rice with zero seasoning, no filling as advertised (supposed to have one) with a butter ramekin meant for my partners soup in previous course. During this I waited 20 mins for replacement. Waited 20 more minutes for my replacement soup, they forgot butter.
I received my mains, excellent. Perfect steak, perfect linguine. No check back. Lol not even on starters( had to approach desk/waitress twice for both bad starters, they were always leaning over desk chatting) no upselling in drinks (empty wine bottle), ordered dessert....extremely bitter coffee. Read moreThere's a mandatory 10% service charge on the bill - which I disagree with. We were a table of 2. I always tip but I strongly disagree with this being added to a bill without being flagged to the customer. Normally bills will at least say "optional service charge" but this one did not. It's an expensive restaurant (and i presume experienced staff), and thus presume the staff would be paid according to that, therefore tips should be at customers discretion.
The food was great, really tasty but just not enough of it, the pork came with like little more than a tablespoon of mash potato and salsa Verde.
Vibe of the restaurant is a bit random, scottish but also a tropical theme? Not sure but the interior was nice and...
