I really liked this place. The servers were great and one of them was very funny, which is always nice. The pasta was very tasty. However, the pasta was a bit overcooked, which was a bit disappointing. My pizza was the star of the show, though. It was easily one the best and most tasty pizzas I've had in Glasgow. Using that oven definitely makes a difference. The bottom was crispy without being burnt, and the toppings were generously added on. The waiter didn't use a notepad and forgot one of the items from the order. It's all fine and well if you can remember everything, but if not, it's not best to just jot it down. The decor and overall atmosphere of The Italian Kitchen was top tier. Overall, this place would be ideal for a date or family meal. Highly recommend.

Good place for a relaxing meal, which tastes good and served timely. The staff are nice , though if the place is busy they can be a bit distracted and disregard signs from customers clear as daylight. The pizza is ok, ours was fine but we had a bit of flex in the pasta base. I would not go for specifically for the pizza here and they have no other base than tomato base. Many places near by has other base at least a few. The chips is great and the pumpkin soup was delicious. The squid could be better, as a starter that was a bit rough. Coke was a bit strange, not sure which type was it. Otherwise clean and tidy place but a bit crammed and no option to have a pram at your table which makes a bit complicated for families with little one.

I'm really not one for complaining but my anger at the treatment I received in this restaurant is such that I feel I need to vent it as much as possible and let anybody considering eating here know how the management feel about paying customers. We came here with friends to celebrate our engagement and had a very pleasant lunch with great service. Then after we had paid we were approached by the manager and very rudely told we really had to leave now as he needed the table. We had no prior request to do so but we eat out all the time and are well aware that this is often asked of diners. Do not have a problem with this. Where my problem lies is the way we were spoken to and humiliated in front of a busy restaurant. He then went on to call us liars, argued with us and his response when we said we wouldn't be back was "well don't be back". We were basically dumped onto the pavement after paying £120 for lunch. I hate having to complain and I'd rather fix problems when they occur but there was no talking to this arrogant little man. I read reviews all the time to make restaurant choices and I hope the management of this place realise that if you treat customers in such a shocking way that we can actually do something about it and make others aware of what to expect. There is a vast array of other dining options in Glasgow so choose wisely and give your hard earned money to people who work for it and truly appreciate...

Disappointing and Rushed Experience

We visited this restaurant expecting to enjoy a relaxed meal, but unfortunately, the service made it impossible to do so. Upon arrival, we were informed that the kitchen would close in 45 minutes, but we were assured we could still dine there. While we appreciated the transparency, the service felt rushed from the moment we sat down.

Within five minutes, we were asked three times by different staff members if we had decided on our order. This level of pressure made us feel uncomfortable. Once our food arrived, the staff repeatedly interrupted us, asking if we were finished—even while we were still eating. The moment we placed our forks down, a waiter immediately approached to clear the plates, and seconds later, we were asked to pay the bill.

The entire experience, from walking in to leaving, lasted only 30 minutes. It felt more like a race than a dining experience. While the food was decent, the rushed and intrusive service overshadowed everything. This is not what I would expect from a restaurant, especially one that was not overly busy at the time.

I hope the management considers improving their approach to allow guests to enjoy their meals without feeling hurried...

Fabulous food and the friendliest, most helpful staff you'll find anywhere. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars for atmosphere is that they are victims of their own success: it was a little noisy this particular day and time. Lots of families with kids, happily enjoying their meals. (No badly behaved kids - just children excitedsl at being our and about.) On a previous visit later in the day it was quieter and more relaxed. I came for lunch with my brother and his wife, who had just arrived from the USA to surprise me for my birthday and who had turned up without warning on my doorstep an hour before. They had booked an expensive restaurant for the evening but were hungry and wanted to eat- they asked me to choose somewhere. I remembered that every time I've been to this restaurant, the staff always bring the personal touch to their service, and that the food is fresh and different to the usual Italian fare. I was really pleased with my choice. My sister in law (who's from New Jersey) couldn't understand a word people were saying and is now convinced Scots is a foreign language, but was just blown away by how friendly everyone was. They loved...
