Met up with some friends on Thursday night and visited the Raven bar for the first time. Nice and spacious inside with lots of seating areas, well lit. First impressions was nice friendly looking place. Approached the bar for some drinks, met with a stone faced female bartender. Ordered some pints and a few shots as we were in a good mood. Almost 50 quid for 4 drinks with shots…pretty shocked by the price as place is located off the main drag. When expressing my surprise at the price of the drinks, the female bartender gave me an unpleasant stare. Anyway paid for the drinks and took a seat. When my friend took to the bar for more drinks he was refused, claiming that I had been aggressive when ordering the first round. I approached the male bartender to challenge the claim and was accused of using foul language towards the female bartender which I disputed. I was shocked by this claim, however myself and friends were asked to leave. On reflection, I feel that any staff working in environment selling alcohol should posses a level of resilience when dealing with the public. I feel that the female staff member had made a false accusation however myself and friends could not plead our case. On that point I would not recommend this bar and would like to highlight to management that both staff members working that Thursday night require suitable training for working in a public bar. Therefore I have given the Raven a rating of one because of my...

Food wasn't great this time.. the chefs ran out of turkey roulade and decided to put pulled beef on my girlfriends burger instead then the waitress told her multiple times it was definitely turkey "but different turkey that they use for Sandwich" It definitely wasn't as it was the exact same pulled beef product I had in my quesadillas I even tasted it and compared it.

The waitress was clearly annoyed on us challenging this, she was probably frustrated that the kitchen had lied to her and then we appeared like idiots making trouble. No apology was offered and it was really frustrating to feel like we had to explain ourselves over and over. The roast potatoes were actually fried too, very dry.

I've been here twice, after this I would not return. There was clearly tension when it should have just been fixed. Not nice at all. Especially when you get treated like you're a stupid.

I've worked in restaurants all my life and there's a lot you can get away with. When the kitchen makes a mistake like this they need to just own it. Lying to the waitress just caused an atmosphere, she should have just got a manager to come and speak to us and it probably could have been avoided.

The burger was taken off the bill so it's not the end of the world but it was hard to get anyone's attention both times we had to which makes us less...

This place used to be great when it first opened and prided itself on it's slowed cooked BBQ meat. That has totally changed now and all the good meat dishes have gone. Toss up between a mac and cheese and a burger now essentially. Ordered the burger which was very average. Lettuce was warm and soggy, and the meat was dry. The desert "menu" is disappointing with only a couple of choices. Ordered waffles only to be told the waffle machine was broken but they would do pancakes instead with the same toppings. What turned up was absolutely vile and inedible. The taste of salt from the pancakes was overpowering and unbearable and made me gag and they were swimming in cheap strawberry sauce. The staff who had been very attentive up until then suddenly decided to perform an amazing vanishing act. Had the money on the table waiting to pay for ages and no one was to be seen so ended up just walking away due to feeling ill after the pancakes. They seem to just be focusing on trying to be a trendy craft beer pub now and the food has suffered big time. It has went from being one of my favourite places to eat in Glasgow to somewhere I will never set...

Spacious interior with intimately distanced booths and tables - even when it's mobbed you've still got room to breath. Which sets it apart from many food serving venues in Glasgow city centre. Defines itself as a sports bar, but this place really will take on any type of crowd with a smile. Every time I visit, I've had a brilliant experience. I can owe that to exceptional staff, a well kept environment, and a relaxing no-pressure atmosphere. I've only got one photo but it's a brilliant example of the creative weekly burgers they have going. Previously, they had an Irn Bru burger that had a glaze to kill for. I actually risked it for a biscuit and asked if they had any left once it was no longer the weekly burger. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they did, and were more than happy to provide me some with my meal! Will be back!

There were tables available when I arrived around 6pm on a Tuesday evening. I was seated quickly in the restaurant area. Venue was a nice temperature. Staff were efficient, taking my order for drinks and food quickly. Menu isn't huge but has a selection of nibbles like nachos and bigger bites like ribs as well as a range of burgers and hot sandwiches. I had the pulled pork baguette with fries. The meat was juicy though I did find it a bit bland. There are a selection of sauces available on the table so I added some bbq and it tasted much better. It's not a spicy bbq sauce, which I like. Fries were piping hot. My meal plus soft drink cost me less than £10.

So i'm regularly in the Raven for a wee nibble and a drink after work. Usually the drink turns into a full evening of drunken story telling. The pub is always clean and tidy and the staff are always pleasant. Food is great (i totally suggest the haggis fritters!) and the drink is reasonably priced for city centre (£9.50 for a pint of Guinness and a large Pinot). My colleagues/friends/drunken bums, are here a lot, both for convenience of location and because the atmosphere is great. We have booked the function area for some leaving do’s too. Overall a great place for a quiet night out, or for a larger party.
