Stopped by for a spot of lunch during Dundee Literary Festival. Good ambience, friendly attentive staff, varied menu.

We both chose the pie deal, which offers a choice of pie from a selection of 6 or 7, a potato side (creamy mash, chunky chips, or sweet potato fries) and a veg option (mushy peas, fried onions & gravy, mixed veg) all for the princely sum of £6.95!

Selecting the beef chilli & cheese option, I opted for the sweet potato fries and onions. Served in a retro enamel ashet, the pie itself was packed full of tasty chilli mince whilst the pastry was firm and buttery tasting; also, No matter how many fries I ate, the pike in the dish didn't seem to lessen any....

My daughter plumped for the Carribbean Chicken Curry pie, this time with chunky chips (and boy, are they chunky!) and also the onions. Her pie filling was a little drier than expected, but this was because (unlike a lot of other pies) there was a lot of nicely spiced chicken & veg packed in, rather than lots of sauce containing a few chunks!!

Would definitely recommend, and we are planning on returning soon (i mean, we HAVE to work our way through the other pie...

Is definitelyThe staff are incredibly friendly and the service was to notch. I'm not a fan of the tables and chairs, the smaller tables were taken so the only ones left were the really long tables with full length benches either side, quite awkward when other people sit there and you have to ask 6 people to move the bench so you can get up for the toilet. The food was decent enough and the haggis balls were amazing, but I really wasn't impressed with the haggis pie, way too much potato and not enough haggis, and what there was of the haggis didn't really taste like it was haggis and was really spicy. If someone had sat that in front of me I wouldn't have guessed what it was. I'd definitely go back if I could get an individual table and I'd try something different, would definitely get haggis balls again! However if all the small tables were taken then I can see me...

The other Night my 2 friends and I entered the bar for a drink we are all in our 50's the Bar was crowded with students... years before we went to this bar which was then called Tally ho a great bar anyway we sat at the back at the long tables on the other long table there was a crowd of students packed there . As I returned from the Gents the bar staff advised my friends that the table was Reserved we didn't see any sign but there could have been so we moved to a quieter table. after 40 minutes we noticed the table which was seemingly reserved nobody was sitting there it was Empty I think 🤔 this was Agesism Auld guys in a young pub 🤪🤣🤣🤣 I should've just stuck to the...

The froth was of a respectable quality, feeling exactly as froth should be - not too airy, not too thick. While the temperature certainly could have been improved, being a little on the cool side, the chocolatiness was excellent, and the consistency quite respectable, save for the bottom - a common side effect of mediocre temperature. Adding in sugar is recommended, making the drink quite sweet and delicious. Overall, a very good hot chocolate - 7/10

Visited the place with my research colleagues. The ambiance was nice and pleasantly cozy, and the seating was comfortable. With multiple large-screen TVs, I would say a great spot to watch sports. The staff was friendly and professional. I tried their chicken stack, which was okay. The lemonade was refreshing.
