Had lunch here yesterday and it’s a very mixed review. My friend and I have eaten here 4 times in the last year and it’s always been excellent. Yesterday we ordered 3 tapas each (as we always do) and when the 2nd one came out after waiting 20 mins for both dishes we asked if they could come out together, as has always been the case before. Unfortunately this time both dishes served were mine and so was awkward with my friend not having any of hers yet! The lady we asked informed us ‘we should have asked for that when ordering’ and proceeded to tell us the kitchen can’t deal with that normally as it’s tiny and there are only 2 chefs. We said it hadn’t been a problem before and we were told ‘we must have been lucky’. She then told us she was the owner and continued to quite rudely tell us that’s not what they do. She agreed to ask the kitchen to see if they could assist. She wouldn’t let it go and I was borderline tempted to ask her to stop telling us why we were a problem and just see if the kitchen could help… I don’t appreciate being lectured. It REALLY soured the experience. That said the food then did come out together and was delicious, as it always has been. After we had finished our dishes we asked the server if we could see the pudding and coffee menu - it didn’t appear. After 20 mins we just settled the bill and left. Pointed out to the same chap when settling up we hadn’t seen the puds and he just shrugged and took the money! Sadly the attitude is enough for us...

I so wanted to love it but unfortunately last nights valentine's day dinner was a bit touch and go. Elements were fab: The roses on the table, the atmosphere and space were excellent. We ordered all the fish tapas (I love fish!) and some vegetable croquettes. We really enjoyed most of them especially the stuffed crab peppers. But I think the menu needs to mention key ingredients much better. For example the vegetable croquettes (although lovley) were really goats cheesey which was unexpected. The prawns (although again lovley) came with almonds and chili in a sauce that seemed scarily chorizo based. As a pescetarian this was quite off putting and I immediately stopped eating any prawns. It was such a busy night that we had trouble catching any passing waiters to ask. We were really happy otherwise, my partner ate the prawns and I tucked into the goats cheese balls. The real disappointment was near the end when a bowl of very very crispy fried squid arrived. We were most confused because squid was not visably on the menu and neither of us remember the waitresses mentioning squid. Anyways...it was terrible. Really dry and over cooked, comically so. Needles to say we sent it back and we weren't charged...

We arrived at 245, the restaurant wasn't overly busy, about 10+ free tables. The waitress arrived, explained what was sold out, then took our orders. As we were waiting we seen staff returning from the local shops with 6 tubs of cream cheese. Half an hour after we ordered, someone came out and explained that the soup we had ordered had run out. We took the alternative, although we were confused why it took 30 minutes to figure this out. At 40 minutes gone, I asked waiter why it was taking so long, he said it was it busy. It wasn't. I then was served my food, 5 minutes later I approached the desk asking what was happening with my partners food, they said they had sent someone out to the shops to get some salmon for us. We cancelled the salmon and ate what we had, as an apology from the restaurant they took the salmon off our bill(which we didn't even get). Last time we went to this restaurant we thought it was great, we won't be going back this time. Utterly shocking service, and it looks like a lot of stuff on the menu is from lidl! (the member of staff arrived back with a full bag of shopping, probably including...

Loved it! New favourite place for a varied menu, quality ingredients and great service! We shared a cheese platter between three and there was a good amount for all, plus a few smaller dishes. I would highly recommend taking your girlfriends or family out for a lunch here. The staff were attentive, the owner even giving us a breakdown of what all the cheeses and sauces were on our platter (carefully chosen and a beautiful selection from blue and goats to manchego and smokey, all with bread, oil/vinegar dip, grapes etc etc), we really enjoyed sharing our plates and chatting over drinks. My friend had a Margherita, freshly made at the bar and it looked wonderful. We also rounded off with some delicious coffees and tipped our servers. Great atmosphere, busy enough to book ahead when you really want to ensure a good time ❤️👌

We went there because it was highly recommended so the expectations were high, I didn't like any of the dishes. First of all the croquetas, they tasted good but they were not crispy like at all, it seemed to me that they were microwaved before serving to warm them a bit (but they were cold inside), patatas bravas... I have no words... They were boiled potatoes (with the skin as well) and the salsa brava was not good either, it is tricky to make a good salsa (even in Spain) but at least fry the potatoes. We order some chicken with romesco, chicken was very dry and the sauce was not even close to a romesco sauce. Not even the bread tasted good, well the cheese was okay but the cold meats were the ones that you can buy in any supermarket (in the UK). In general was a very bad experiencing very disappointing :(

Gallery48 is our all time favourite place in Dundee. We had our first date here, as well as a graduation celebration. It’s the perfect place for casual and more formal plans. It can get quite busy and noisy during the evening. The tapas is great. We can recommend the catalan spinach and the prawns. The cheese and meat platter is also great. Several of our friends have approved the gin list as good as well. The actual secret though is their breakfast. They make amazing baked toasts. Savoury and sweet. S’mores toast is our go to, however the Chocolate and Cinnamon toasts are also great. You can also just have a coffee and pastry for £3 if you need to catch up on gossip with your friends. It’s also typically very empty in the morning, no need to book. For lunch or dinner you should book.
