What's happened? One of the best curry places in Sheffield and I got sent an incredibly oily balti. I've been here quite a few times but whoever cooked this needs sacking. It was saturated in oil when I took the plastic cover off, although yes I did eat most of it as I was hungry but not happy at all. I had a seafood balti in the restaurant about 3 months ago and it certainly wasn't like this, it was amazing and no where near as much oil. Always tip top when I've been to the restaurant, but now I'm having second thoughts of returning. Curry was supposed to be from a good quality restaurant not a takeaway. I was thinking actually if I enjoyed the dish tonight I was going to give this place 5/5 but doesn't look like I'll be ordering here again. It's a shame. Felt rough after it.

Very disappointed with our visit. We waited over 20 minutes for drinks after asking multiple staff members. The naan bread was the worst I've ever had—flat, dry, and lacking any garlic flavor; I've had better from the supermarket. The curry was okay, but nothing special. It seemed like the other customers, who were quite drunk, didn't notice the poor quality and service. Maybe this is standard here? The after-dinner chocolates were melted and reset, with foil stuck to them. The lemon cashew rice was just plain rice with a few cashews and some lemon peel—nothing remarkable. I won't be returning.

I've been here 3 times over the last few years and had quite a different experience each time. The first time the food was very substandard and some of it was actually burnt, the second visit the food was a lot better generally pretty good. This time was not good. The samosas were very nice but the mains and the naan bread were swimming in oil. I know the dishes should have some oil but this was a very off putting amount. The meat in the chicken curry was also quite dry. The service was ok but slightly pushy. This will be my last visit

Appalling customer service from the manager 25 of us arrived as booked at 6.30 for my grandsons 16th birthday . We were seated in individual booths away from the main side of the restaurant. the booth was not comfortable for my daughter due to her being 8 months pregnant and it also meant the family in our party had their backs to each other and we had a cake that we wanted to put in the centre . The main area was almost empty apart from one couple and there was a long row of tables together we explained to the manager the booths were not suitable and asked if we could sit in the main area on the row of tables , the manager abruptly said no incase other customers walk in and want those tables .We asked if they had been reserved and he said no but you can’t sit there .we reminded him that we had booked in advance for a birthday party and would have appreciated some consideration to make us comfortable he snapped at my daughter and said the booths are fine and I can’t help . He could clearly see the children in the party becoming upset but he had no compromise was dismissive and walked away we asked to see him again and he refused to come out to speak with us Due to his rudeness we felt uncomfortable and said we were leaving my daughter asked for her £60 deposit back the manager then returned and he snapped no a deposit is a deposit do you understand and there is no refund . I said the deposit is not refundable if we had not turned up but we have turned up been treated badly and therefore forced to leave so it should be paid back he rudely said no you are not getting it back .We did not want our grandsons birthday ruined so all decided to leave without our deposit . This manager was a rude angry little man and looked quite scruffy in appearance the other staff were very apologetic and tried to reason with him on our behalf but he was just as rude to them it was clear they were embarrassed and could not apologise enough .Over the years we have had many great evenings at 7 spices with excellent customer service I can only assume it has changed hands such a shame to see it decline in this way A shout out to butlers restaurants up the road we called them and explained our situation and they went above and beyond to accommodate us despite being busy , the food , customer service and effort they went to was fantastic and thankfully my grandson had a great 16th birthday thanks to butlers they even put sparklers on his cake and put 7...

Went out with family(2 Adults, 2 kids) on Saturday night ( 30th Apr) . Staff was cordial enough. I have to give this rating for two reasons , firstly the food was way out of taste that is expected from this cuisine, am sorry but the chef hasn't done great job at all . They don't taste the way it should have ..it's totally bland .We ordered the Veg starter ( with Panner Tikka [no seasoning] , Samosa[Oily & Packaged one] , bhaji ( better out of two) , served with curd chutney and it was cold) .

With mains , we ordered garlic naan and a Panner curry which consist mostly of potatoes again bland and a veg biryani with again loads of potatoes and no flavour .

Secondly cost to food plated , the food isn't worth the money.

If you want to taste Indian(sub continent) food with no flavour and taste , you should visit this place else it's much better to get a Indian takeaway from any stores.

We have been around 40 min or so and we have been asked to leave in 10 min which I believe is the owner , while rest of the people who were around same time were ok to stay & it wasn't that busy around . I realised it's just skin deep , shame on the owner & learn some manners and courtesy...

Really disappointing. We visited this restaurant a few years ago and it was great. Visited this evening and it was like the parents were away and the teenagers were in control. The starters ie Meat Samosa and Prawn puri were unrecognisable to what we've been had in other Indian restaurants and were not enjoyable. Then the main course... The tandoori chicken was dry and not served sizzling but with a sauce heated at the table. The pilau rice was just plain rice and the peshwari naan a plain naan. In short the food was very disappointing. When we came to pay they hand lost the order and spent ages finding from the kitchen, when asked for a receipt they rewrote the order. It was a bit of a farce to be honest and we do not intend to visit again and would advise against others doing so. Si disappointed, would be interested to know if this restaurant is under new management because it...
