Stayed for 3 nights while attending CAMRA AGM and Members Weekend in April. Room was comfy and good size with plenty of drawers for clothes and belongings. Would have been nice to have a hanging rail of some description rather than just hooks on the wall with no hangers. Staff friendly and approachable, whether regarding room or the pub downstairs, which I might add, had some excellent Real Ales on. The take on the traditional pork pie was very good, sampled by my other half when we returned for a couple of drinks before retiring to our room for the night. Well situated for walking around to the Kelham Island area, and accessible for buses and trams a short distance away. As we were staying the weekend, we found there wasn't any 'breakfast options' around, but plenty on the Monday morning. Don't let this put you off, there is a kettle and tea/coffee facilities, so could easily get your own porridge pots. I would...
Read moreStayed 2 nights for a stag do. Room clean, bed good, shower good Ironing board available but have to request. Entrance via pub when open or pub garden so 24h up stairs then more stairs. Generally enjoyed my stay and slept well despite 5am returns. I'd say the rooms you can hear a lot from the halls. I wouldn't say paperthin walls. I always use ear plugs even if I stayed in Buckingham Palace so sound is not an issue too much.. Coffee and kettle availble. Would've been nice to have a jug or bottle of water rather than use bathroom tap but once boiled tis ok. Location is fine lots of things to do. Chap was nice with long hair very friendly and helpful. Parking ncp 2 mins walk 15 for 2 days Key drop handy Overall I'd be happy...
Read moreAlmost exclusively craft beer orientated. Even within that the selection is pretty niche\high-end. The blackboard will terrify many.
About half of the 10 or so beers on draft are usually plus 8% & mainly stouts. Doesn't seem the most inclusive of selections with maybe one sour, IPA & pale on if you're lucky.
There is a local & a German lager (off when visiting last) available.
The small main room is a bit boxy feeling. It's a minimal vibe place but no fabric up at the windows means sound just echos about the place. Kills the atmosphere for me. There is a small outdoor space (enclosed...
