Subway — Restaurant in South Ribble

I requested a breakwich wrap, with the contents toasted.

At my usual store, this is done by using a silicone container and placing the protein and cheese in that, however it was just slapped on deli paper then once toasted dumped onto the wrap without any thought. This resulted in most of the cheese being lost (thankfully, more on that later).

As it wasn’t prepared correctly I ended up with my wrap divided into sections instead of getting a bit of each part every bite. All the bacon is in one bite. All the egg was in one bite. Both halves of sausage was on top of each other. The hash browns had a weird taste, almost like they weren’t cooked.

The staff member put about 6 lines of sauce instead of the standard 3 lines resulting in a saucy mess. My requested salad was dumped in the middle of the wrap and not spread evenly.

It is a Wednesday and I noticed the wraps had a Tuesday label on them.

The cambros in the counter were messy, with cross contamination everywhere. Scoops were not used for cheese and sweetcorn, so I ended up with too much cheese (I requested half a scoop, thankfully most of this was stuck to paper) and too much corn (probably 2 scoops worth, standard portion is half a scoop)

My local subway is always busy, but after visiting this subway on my travels, I can see why subway has a poor reputation.

On a separate visit, I only got a cappuccino. I did not get any chocolate on it, as standard. There was an odd flavour to this too, that I’ve never tasted at my local subway. I hope the milk was not bad.

Cleanliness: very poor. Gloves were kept on at the till, and the till was visibly dirty from the other side of the counter. Subwrap was kept right in front of the counter on a tray, with anyone being able to touch it. There was a layer of grime on most surfaces behind the counter particularly around the coffee machine area. The floor was muddy, probably because there was no mat for people to use. The glass screen on counters was grubby. The door handle was filthy, This is a modern style subway, why do they not have automatic doors???

The knives at the start of the counter were also particularly grubby.

This has to be the worst subway by far. I've been there twice now as I drop my son off for sports in Penwortham. Both times it's been a disaster. First time I was stood waiting for service while the girl was on the phone 😭 crying. But the service was excellent after I got her attention. The second time was a disaster. I ordered a six inch sub meal. The server had to Scape the meatballs out of the container as the had dried up with no sauce on them. There was very little choice of salad, only a few containers to choose from with a couple with scraps in them. I got to the till and was asked what drink I'd like. I said hot chocolate, but said they didn't have any milk for chocolate so I asked what he did have instead. He said tea, coffee cold drinks. So I choose tea, with a cookie 🍪. It was only when I'd got to my car that I noticed my tea didn't have milk in it so I went back to get some, only to find out they didn't have milk for tea either? Very disappointed recently! My daughter has started having a treat on a Wednesday by getting a subway for her lunch on the way into school which worked great for a couple of weeks but for 3 Wednesdays in a row not including half term we have not been able to get. Your opening times on website state 8am and on your door but for one of them at just gone 8 it was in complete darkness door locked, one of them door was open but no computers so couldn’t take order although not sure why would just take cash and key through later! Computers don’t stop making a sandwich!!! And today lights on man in the store on his phone and door locked, I rattled the door knocked but he just ignored us and carried on his chat!!!
