Indian tadka (formely known as Bombay spice) — Restaurant in Southampton

This was my second visit to the restaurant, and unfortunately, the customer service was disappointing again. One young lady taking orders was particularly rude on both occasions.

This time, when my friend and I arrived, she asked us to share a sofa with other customers—even though plenty of other seats were available. We politely requested a separate table, especially because the other guests seemed to want privacy as well. Instead of accommodating us, she ignored the request, and we eventually left without eating. She didn’t offer us another table or even attempt to make the situation right.

On a previous visit, she was similarly unwelcoming. We were still finishing our food, and after just 30 minutes, she came over and asked to clear our plates, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy and many seats were still free.

To the owner: I genuinely like the food here, which is why I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1. But the attitude of this staff member could seriously damage your reputation. Good service is just as important...

Couldn't find less than 1 star to rate. The whole evening was ruined by the staff who claimed to be watching us on camera for drinking their pani puri water more than what their “POLICIES ARE” which they are working on to implement. Told us in the middle of our meal and when questioned was confronted in a rude way by some staff although the manager was giving explanations about how it works in India and how they have these in their policies and procedures which no one is aware off. Coudnt be better, only the management need to reconsider about treating people professionally. Not worth it. Unless you want to pay someone to do you a favour for feeding you rather providing service...

Me and my friend went here for dinner and unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. The waitress behaved as if she was doing us a favor by serving us, not like we were paying customers. We were unsure of what to order and asked a couple of questions but the moment we asked for a bit more time to decide, she gave us a visibly grumpy attitude.

While the food itself was actually okish, the service completely ruined the experience. It felt like they couldn’t be bothered to provide even basic courtesy. Safe to say, we won’t be going back, and we definitely won’t be recommending this place to anyone. We came to enjoy a meal, not to deal with someone’s bad mood....
