Nando's Southampton - Guildhall — Restaurant in Southampton

Me and my girlfriend went there for the first time on our one year anniversary and i have to say it was the correct choice. We were seated immediately and everyone was super friendly and constantly positive. The food (im assuming becausr of the quality) was fresh didnt seem frozen at all and was amazing, the boneless chicken thighs were incredibly juicy, the medium sauce on them was lovely and the flavour was absolutely delicious. I also ordered fully loaded chips without the spring onions and creamy dressing, thsy were amazing, the sauce there went amazing with the peri peri salt and cheese they were crispy but nice and fluffy on the inside and overall were amazing, one employee in particular we had a conversation with and she was incredibly friendly and congratulated us on our one year anniversary, she was so friendly and all of the employees in general there were, the atmosphere felt very comforting and homey and the staff made it feel like you were family, at the end we gave a tip and said our thanks multiple times to the staff. My only regret was not being able to give a larger tip, thank you for making our anniversary so great we're definitely coming again next year and...

Came to eat with two vegetarians. Queued to order and was told the Immitator Wrap was unavailable (apparently ingredients would take too long to defrost) [side note this was also the only vegan main dish on offer] so lost place in queue to find out what they would like to replace it with. One chose the Beanie burger - all good. But the other person ordered the mushroom and halloumi pitta - we ordered and then waited 20 minutes for food before being told there are no mushrooms!! Add to this that the wine we wanted from the somewhat limited drinks menu was also unavailable leads me to write this review. Wait for food was also in excess of 30 minutes which is poor by Nando’s standards. Update: they refunded the cost of the no-mushroom and halloumi meal. Out of the 2 Nando’s in town, we always prefer to go to this one by miles! Staff customer service are impeccable comparing to their other branch down the road. Very attentive staff, clean environment, knowledgeable crew and the food usually it’s served in timely fashion. Seem very busy on deliveries albeit the systems in place doesn’t seem to affect much the speed of service on dining in. The downbeat id probably note would be their sandwiches the bread are notoriously easy to tell it’s frozen then grilled leaving that frozen bread after taste, also the chicken quality varies slightly as to who’s on the grill often.
