Café Cocktail — Restaurant in Stratford-on-Avon

As we were able to pop in more regularly to Cafe Cocktail and take family and friends, we were also finalising our wedding plans. We half joked to Matthew about how cool it would be to have a cocktail hour (or 2 and a half) at the best cocktail bar around before our evening reception elsewhere. Within weeks it was a reality, from a quick deposit, bouncing ideas around for the drinks on the day, an in depth but friendly summary email from Matthew and a final payment - super, super easy.

On the 4th of October, after our ceremony and first photos, we were so surprised & happy to see our names on the board outside, an already buzzing atmosphere serving our guests, beautiful decorations & flowers, with a card and the warmest welcome. Literally everything was taken care of; microphone and equipment for speeches, spaces for photos, soft drinks, ice cold beers and every cocktail went out looking as perfect as the first - truly a well oiled machine, but the team remained so friendly and genuine as well as total professionals throughout.

We didn't want to leave! The most perfect environment, atmosphere and people made our day so special and we can't thank Matthew and the entire team enough. Our family & friends also fell in love with Cafe Cocktail and can't wait to return. On our first visit a long time ago I remember saying it felt like such a special place, and it turned out to be super special for us. We are so happy & very lucky to have such a remarkable group of people absolutely smashing it, and effortlessly making people's day unforgettable.

You can get cocktails pretty much everywhere, but they vary quite a bit, from a (usually oversweet and low-strength) premixed bought-in one through to the basic classics mixed to a set formula. Café Cocktail is the next step up.

There's mastery of the usual common cocktails (often with a twist) and a whole load of innovation in their own ideas and cocktails you won't get anywhere else, and, if you ask nicely, they'll create something specific for you.

Plus, they are willing to share their extensive knowledge if you have questions (e.g. a canchanchara came before a daiquiri and uses honey, not sugar).

On top of all that the service is brilliant.

We wanted somewhere for a relaxed few drinks and nibbles before dinner and often struggle to find places that are either ‘too bar like’ and more like having to be fully dressed up and/or aren’t open earlier in the day…. Or you can’t get decent cocktails

Visiting for the weekend we found this place walking by and what a great little find.

Friendly staff that make lovely cocktails, good selection of nibbles and sharing platters which would have been fine for a lunch or dinner, or for us just a side before we already had a meal booked for dinner.
