Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Tamworth

This is your typical Costa Coffee branch. There is nothing special here when compared to other Costa Coffee outlets and it offers the same quality and pleasant atmosphere you would expect from the brand.

The central location on the high street is very convenient and this place is always busy, the drinks have always been hot, the food well prepared and the staff pleasant to interact with. However, I feel that the branch being so busy is what has caused the previous issues I've encountered, and it therefore prevents me from giving it the full 5 stars.

On various occasions I've encountered slow service here, and during pre-covid visits I often found that the table I was sat at was dirty and in need of a clean following the previous guests leaving. These issues have definitely prevented me from fully enjoying the place.

The above issues aside I would still not hesitate visiting or recommending this branch to others if they were...

Great shop, the usual mediocre costa coffe, but when a young lad is the barista the coffee's better. A few tables outside for the smoking lads. One of the best places to enjoy your coffee in Tamworth

UPDATE: As the staff changes every now and then, the quality of the coffee is far below par. Most of the times we're being served by trainee baristas who (understandably) will miss on the coffee making. Plus the service is so slow that at peak times you should allow a minimum of 15 minutes just to get served... Which I don't understand, there are usually a team of 4-5 people but they are so uncoordinated that it takes ages to make a simple...

Could of gone to one of the independent cafes in Tamworth. As I went inside I was greeted by a loud smash sound as a tray of cups near the side counter smashed onto the floor but luckily it missed the 2,ladies sitting on a table and no one was hurt. Staff went to clean up the mess as if nothing happened. Got there and waited for my turn and the staff seem young , too young to really know what to do really and considering the price compared to the other cafes in Tamworth - I can’t give a high rating , just honest one. Drink and food ok as you expect from costa but don’t expect atmosphere etc. don’t expect the warm welcome you get...
