Side Walk Cafe — Restaurant in Tamworth

Popped into here today for something to eat before heading home as I haven't visited this cafe since I was a child.

The lady taking and running the orders was lovely and very pleasant. She took my order at the table and brought everything over to me

I have left 3 stars as the inside of the cafe appears to be a bit neglected when it comes to the finer details, the name on the wall looks old and a bit tacky and the place could do with a fresh lick of paint and just something to make it more inviting to eat there.

I ordered the fish and chips alongside a hot chocolate and whilst the hot chocolate and chips were nice, the fish was a massive disappointment, especially given the price. The batter was verging on being burnt and the fish itself was overcooked, chewy and dry. I would have also expected a larger portion, again, given the price.

Ordered on Uber Eats and had possibly the rudest delivery driver ever. The driver called me to say that he was outside. I looked outside and he wasn't there so I called the Cafe who said they would call him. I called the Cafe back 5 minutes later who advised that the driver went to the wrong address. The driver turned up 5 minutes later and told me that my address was wrong. He argued with me and wouldn't accept that he was in the wrong. I had to tell him that I know where I live and even shown him a letter with my address on. He didn't apologise once even though he was wrong. Atrocious. Ordered a cheese and potatoe pie. I received a pile of sloppy mash with melted cheese on. Inedible. Called store very poor phone line, unwilling to help and a gobby mare in the background saying she hasn't got time for this! Lady on the phone said it's impossible to make the pie probely because of the containers. They literally melted cheese in a microwave on some mash. I cannot understand how one can't cook a simple cheese pie. Also the food dropped out the bag and the delivery driver had to be told to step back two metres after opening my door to hand me the...
