Good Taste Cafe — Restaurant in Tendring

Great place if you like witnessing blatant racism! My girlfriend and I have just seen a shocking display of racism in this cafe . An Indian family were turned away by staff who said the place was closing . 20 minutes later the place was still open and they were welcoming more customers. It took us a few minutes to believe this was actually going on and had to confront the staff and when we asked we were told by the waitress that the owner has told them to not let in " certain " people .Take that as you will . Oh yeah also forgot to mention the food came cold and when asked for my chips to be served hot was given menacing looks by the kitchen staff . All in all this has been a very unsettling experience and in todays society is totally unacceptable . SHOCKING on all accounts! 31 / 8 / 2017 Interesting to see the owner has replied to another review below which was posted after this review apologising about the food !! We have had no explanation from the owner regarding the incident above and also no apology regarding our cold food !! Waiting for a response...

Sorry to say but... One of the worst breakfast cafés I've been to. Staff might be friendly but thats nothing to compliment on, as thats standard requirements/practice in this industry anyways. So here is my reason for a 1 star. Asked that my toast be a bit longer toasted. Asked by waitress "like burned?" i replied saying not burned just actual toasted. Food came. My toast was BLACK. I mean... BLACK. Like its a joke or done on purpose. Just as we were about to eat (what we could), the girl behind the counter friend turned up and started chatting so loud the whole cafe had to listen to their conversation. The whole time we had to hear about her ringworm infections and the actual details of it all... For the whole meal. I mean... Its common curtacy not to have this type of discussion out loud so everyone trying to EAT needs to hear. Not once were we asked if the food was all ok. The vegetarian sausage was deep fat fried to the death, didnt...

Stopped in for breakfast and was really impressed! The café is clean, nicely decorated, and has a really welcoming feel to it. I went for the traditional breakfast and added an extra sausage (was feeling a bit ravenous!) – and I’m glad I did. Every item on the plate was cooked to perfection, from the crispy bacon to the golden hash browns. Portion size was spot on and definitely filled me up properly.

Service was quick and friendly too – no long waits, just good food served fast. Will definitely be coming back next time...
