Visited with my husband and brother and Ordered two prawn dishes and one mules mariners and while the prawn dishes were very good and the kitchen kindly peeled them for us at our request the mussels were very overcooked, tasteless and shrivelled! We paid for our food upfront so when our food arrived the waitress asked if all was okay. We informed her the prawns were very good but the mussels were overcooked and very shrivelled and we had tasted a lot better! Her response after we heard her telling the kitchen that someone was complaining about the mussels was they can’t possibly be overcooked as they had used a temperature probe to cook them! Her response was very rude and she was not interested in our reply as they had already taken our £49 and refused to offer any kind of solution whatsoever! Why ask if the food is okay if you can’t accept a truthful opinion? Who uses a temperature probe for cooking mussels anyway?? You could clearly tell by sight of them that they were very shrivelled and overcooked! Did they temperature probe and test each one!! 😂Needless to say we left with a bowl of unfinished mussels on the table and left no tip!! Very poor customer service and handled very badly by the waitress and kitchen, which was a shame as the rest of the meal...
Read moreNever eat there again!!! There was only 2 staff of but the lad was rude not once but twice. Then we saw the girl walk into the kitchen with her fingers in her mouth and started touch food with her unwashed hands, food was being touch with bare hands after working the bar, and also food being left out to go work the bar then go back to finish again with no washing of hands. The food in total took 2 hours to come in dribs and drabs, but we wanted it to come in one go, and dispite asking for our food 3 times, it took one of our friends to go and talk to (who we presumed was the owner) the man sitting near the door to ask where our food was. Reasonable prices but the food that we could have so easily have prepared at home from Tesco was awful. We left some of the cheese cos it was moldy, and the rest of it....well.....let's say, we will never eat there again and will never recommend it. We asked for house red and got a £24 bottle of wine. If I'd have known £100 was going to be the bill, I wouldn't have eaten there but we didn't pay that cos the 'eat out help out' for covid applied, most certainly would asked for a part refund. We have...
Read moreWe stopped by this bar just for a quick drink and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. The drinks menu was available, but there were no prices listed anywhere, which felt quite misleading. When we got the bill, we were charged £24 for two Aperol Spritz, which tasted extremely weak and watery — definitely not worth it. It felt like the price was just made up on the spot.
While we were sitting inside, enjoying our drinks (or trying to), we had a clear view into the open-plan kitchen through a window. One of the chefs was preparing food – assembling salads and handling ingredients – while continuously vaping. She held an e-cigarette in her left hand the entire time and was smoking it as she worked, without ever putting it down.
The fact that this was happening in full view of customers and no one on staff seemed to care was honestly shocking. It gave the impression that this kind of behavior was completely normal there.
We only came for drinks, and even that didn’t go well. After what we saw, we definitely wouldn’t consider eating here. Not...
