Came here for a quick pick me up after work craving a pizza. There didn't seem to be any other notable options in the area so this place seemed logical.. Being a weeknight and on my own they had no issues seating me. I opted for one of their outdoor seats just outside the entrance as it was a lovely evening.

The table was prompty wiped down, menus were provided and my order taken. I very quickly knew what I wanted and that was the olives and calzone.

The food took around 20ish minutes but it was worth the wait. The Calzone was plump and the encasing bread was delicious. The filling could've been a bit more loaded with the advertised toppings of chicken and pepperoni but that is a minor complaint as the overall taste was great and it was a very satisfying meal.

I didn't see the need to order anything else as the Calzone was filling enough.

The service was quick and efficient and they provided me with a whole bottle of tap water to myself which I massively appreciated.

What I will say is that the place is a bit pricey @ £15.25 for the calzone but where isn't at the moment? How can restaurants not raise prices without compromising on quality given the apocalyptic econonic climate? So with that in mind, I'm still happy to give it a 5 and would recommend anyone who likes pizza to visit as you won't be dissappointed. I will certainly be coming back for the calzone picante!

Update - came back for the Calzone Picante. Shame I can't add more stars to my rating because it...

The food was excellent, as was the wine. The place was nearly empty when we arrived (1 couple) but as we had not booked if took a 30 sec check then told they needed the table back by 8.00pm ( this was at 6.10pm). After a 25 minute wait for a scallop and tiger prawn starter, it arrived at the same time as our main course, and the young waitress tried to put them at the edge of our already crowded table (approximately 2ft 3" x 2ft 3" or 700mm x 700mm for younger readers). I refused to accept the main courses and they we sent back to thd kitchen. To be fair when we were ready the main courses were still well presented and at a good temperature. Hhe waitress said the kitchen had made a mistake. By the time we left 7.40pm the place was only half full and the majority of those dolls not have a booking. They need to get...

The best Italian in Abingdon!

I have always been a Zizzi lover, more recently turning to Ask Italian. These were my staple favourites pre lockdown. However, lockdown was a blessing in disguise in this regard with Bella Napoli being the first to reopen.

I tried their takeaway first which was fantastic and really captured my interest. The food is well priced (competitive with other Italians) and tastes great!

This then prompted me to dine in with them and wow! The food was amazing, it had that real home made taste, nothing was greasy or off-putting, just great Italian food.

I will say from the few experiences I've had here, the takeaway never seems as good as eating in, but I wouldn't let that put you off as its still amazing.

From now on I will be eating here rather than...

Lovely little restaurant with great decor. The tables were arranged with care and the place felt of high class without feeling posh. Staff were freindly and helpful. We had the bolognese and margharita, both of which were excellent. Menu is available on their website which is really helpful. It also offers take-away. I've taken off one star because we actually didn't eat in the restaurant but ordered take-away. I called up around 90 minutes before I wanted to collect the food and gave my order, but when I arrived they seemed surprised to see me and the food wasn't ready. I had to wait 15 minutes in the restaurant to collect my food, which was frustrating because I was in a spot of a hurry. They didn't really apologise or offer any discount, which would have re-earned them the 5th star.
