Dancing turtle coffee shop — Restaurant in Wales

Visited recently and as a Coeliac I can't tell you how wonderful it was to see such a range of gluten free CAKE. Not brownies (yawn), but glorious, beautifully colourful, huge, fantastic CAKE.

All cakes were GF so it was very hard to chose however, I took home two cookies and four slices (well, wedges!) of cake.

The cookies were incredible. You know the type you used to eat before you got diagnosed- ever so slightly moist in the centre, crumbly, thick, and so very tasty!

I thought it couldn't get better, then I tried the cake. Wow.

The texture- actual fluffy cake! The taste- actual flavoursome cake! It's almost like the owners wanted to create a cake that is just like a cake everyone else can have, not just a tick box or afterthought 👌

Both staff members were so lovely and as their daughter is coeliac they really get it. So to walk in somewhere and not only be able to have a CHOICE of what to pick, but to know its safe... amazing!

Honestly, if you're coeliac... go. In fact, even if you're not coeliac, go!

Went in to have a coffee but as soon as we walked in, we walked straight back out again. I love the idea of this place, and the fact that you have a terrapin, but the state of care provided with the terrapin is absolutely disgraceful. I don’t know how it’s condoned. Anyone with half a brain cell would look at the tank, and the poor guy’s stressed nature and feel sick. The tank is disgustingly small, the water is vile and dirty, and there’s no dry part of the tank when he needs it. I do no recall seeing a UV or heat lamp. There also was not enough water. The terrapin was visibly stressed, scrambling to get out. I’ll be reporting this ABUSE to the needed parties and i hope for the animals sake that he is taken away for you people who obviously have zero idea how to care for him, and have clearly done little to no research on...

What a wonderful find yesterday in Porthcawl ..The Dancing Turtle Coffee Shop. A Great place to visit for a nice Pot of Tea or lovely Coffee, specializing in home made food, cakes and a range of gluten-free and vegan goodies all made on the premises and look delicious. Emma and Jonny are on hand to assist you with food or drinks at a very reasonable price. Very friendly couple and a lovely atmosphere. If you want to sit out doors they have a lovely laid out courtyard through to the back of the Coffee Shop which is private and perfect to sit in the sun.
